Swedish synthpop duo CRED released the single “Free Soul” on 10 July 2026 via the Danish label Town And Towers Records.

CRED, the Swedish synthpop duo, released the single “Free Soul” on 10 July 2026 through the Danish label Town And Towers Records. The up-tempo track is available across streaming platforms and as a download.
Where ‘Free Soul’ sits for CRED
CRED mix synthpop with darkwave and post-punk, and the label describes “Free Soul” as “a powerful new chapter in the band’s evolving blend of synthpop, darkwave and post-punk” that “balances melancholy with hope”. It is the band’s first single since their April 2026 album “Bleed”, and follows the 2025 single “Redemption”, also released through Town And Towers.
About CRED
CRED are a Swedish electronic duo from the country’s west coast, founded in 2022 by Bjarne Sund and Tony Berntsson. Fredrik Bergman of Etage Neun sang on early tracks before Hans Karlsson joined as vocalist; Berntsson left in autumn 2025 and the project continued as a duo. CRED signed to Town And Towers Records, a Danish synthpop label, in late summer 2025.
The band released their debut album “Songs From The Vault” in December 2025 and the album “Bleed” in April 2026, drawing on synthpop and darkwave touchstones such as Depeche Mode and OMD. “Free Soul” is their newest single and their first release since “Bleed”.

Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
The donations are safely powered by Paypal.
