All The Devils – Season 1 / Into The Flames (Digital Album – All The Devils)

All The Devils is a Latvian band I had never heard of before, originally starting out as a cover group.
This year, they released their first full-length album, which sounds quite varied. The opening track is somewhat reminiscent of Client. From an Electro/Wave-Pop beginning, it transitions into more flowing Pop, eventually evolving into a kind of ‘Power-Pop’ with the introduction of heavier guitar elements.
Several quieter songs follow, ending with a subtle nod to Tears For Fears. The female singer clearly has talent, delivering vocals with both passion and a certain nonchalance.
While the album isn’t exactly groundbreaking, it’s a pleasant discovery. (Rating:6½).

Why we ask
Advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations we have not put up a paywall, and we refuse to add annoying advertising, so we need to ask for your help. Side-Line’s independent journalism takes time, money and hard work to produce, and we do it to push the artists we like, who are equally fighting to survive.

I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.
