J∆55 eKOJ– Diaboliques Mécaniques (Digital/CD Album – Steampunk Alien Records)

J∆55 eKOJ-primarily known for his involvement with à;Grumh…-has been quite active in recent years and now presents eight new tracks with his latest album.
“Diaboliques Mécaniques” is a raw, unpolished composition shaped by an experimental take on Industrial sound. The songs are diverse-at times sounding completely disjointed-and are held together by an impressive arsenal of sounds and effects, all elevated by the passionate-if not downright possessed-voice of this Belgian pioneer. The sound production is intense and overwhelming, occasionally offering surprises such as the sudden emergence of a martial rhythm.
For those who appreciate an atypical Industrial experience, I highly recommend this new release by J∆55 eKOJ. It’s a kind of Dadaist music collage, the kind only this unique artist could create. (Rating:7½).

Why we ask
Advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations we have not put up a paywall, and we refuse to add annoying advertising, so we need to ask for your help. Side-Line’s independent journalism takes time, money and hard work to produce, and we do it to push the artists we like, who are equally fighting to survive.

I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.
