Genre/Influences: Electro, Cinematic, IDM.

Format: Digital.

Background/Info: “Two Poles” is a kind of split-EP although bringing the Hungarian Emanation project in the spotlight. This duo driven by Peter Voros (Polar Star) and Balazs Vinnui Varga (Nadragea) has been featured by two songs plus two remixes by End-Tek which is a side-project of Hungarian musician George Turoczy (Human Vault). The last song is by End-Tek.

Content: I think there’s no other description than Electro-Cinematic music to explain the sonic approach of Emanation. Both remixes are held in the Cinematic format although accentuated by rhythm. End-Tek achieved a similar Cinematic cut.

+ + + : This is not exactly the most accessible work although interesting for its atypical Cinematic style; it feels like infused by IDM. I personally prefer both remixes by End-Tek and especially “Dark Sun”  which has something visionary.

– – – : This work is interesting and easy to listen to if you’re familiar with the Aliens Production roster although it’s not exactly a production I’ll keep in mind. I’m missing a touch of magic.

Conclusion: I expected a bit more from Emanation while it would have been cool to get more End-Tek songs.

Best songs: “Dark Sun – Line Of Initiation – Remix by End-Tek”.

Rate: 6.
