The darkwave act Divine Shade, based in Lyon, France, has released a live session performance video of their single, “Stars”. The song was performed during their 2022 tour with Gary Numan. They have now released the video of an immersive live session at Polycarpe Studio in France.

The theme of the song is straightforward. It addresses the idea of our “inner child” disappearing as time goes by. Rémi Thonnerieux says, “I wrote this song to discuss the fact that love and resilience are the true paths to dreaming again.”

The band was established by musician Ren Toner in 2014 and offers a blend of styles and influences inspired by cold wave culture, with a hint of industrial and electronic music.

Here’s the video of the session.

“Stars” is available on all major digital platforms including Bandcamp as well.

Why we ask

Advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations we have not put up a paywall, and we refuse to add annoying advertising, so we need to ask for your help. Side-Line’s independent journalism takes time, money and hard work to produce, and we do it to push the artists we like, who are equally fighting to survive.
