Rock music is for people who like being different, people who want to be free and live according to their own rules. Therefore, rock stars take this to the next level. Many rock stars like Ozzy Osbourne, Axl Rose, and Nikki Sixx are known for doing some of the craziest things while living their rock’n’roll life. But many rock stars also had to deal with some serious injuries, and some musicians have a history of getting injured due to their activities. So, injuries are no strangers to them.

If you’re interested in finding out more on the matter, read on to discover the craziest injuries that rock stars had to deal with.

1. Corey Taylor

Slipknot is known for the heavy songs and the horror masks they’re wearing in their music video or on-stage. But what was also part of their stage presence was fire. The shows were unique thanks to the pyrotechnics involved, which created an atmosphere that nothing else could match. Previously, band members like Shawn Crahan and Sid Wilson had themselves or their equipment set on fire as a result.

But during one of their shows, Corey Taylor was the one feeling the fire’s wrath. One of his legs was set on fire. But he didn’t panic – all he did was stare at it and walk away while allowing it to burn for 13 seconds. He suffered some burns on his leg, which are now decorated with tattoos.

2. Tony Iommi

Tony Iommi, the guitarist of Black Sabbath, dealt with a terrible injury when he was only 17 years old. He was working in a sheet metal factory, and he actually ended up with the tips of two of his fingers sliced off by a machine. Even though he was told he would not be able to play again, he didn’t give up. He used some wax, thimbles, and leather strips from his jacket to play again.

3. Alice Cooper

Things can go unexpectedly sometimes, and this is what happened to Alice Cooper when he tried to fake-hang himself. Alice Cooper’s shows were pretty crazy, and they involved the rock star faking his own death in several cases. But in 1988, while trying to fake-hang himself, he almost did it for real.

There was a piano wire that ensured the singer would not get strangled, but it broke, so Alice Cooper dangled for a while before he fell to the ground and became unconscious.

4. James Hetfield

Metallica’s lead singer dealt with a pyrotechnic blast back in 1992 and they had to cut their set short. James Hetfield got his arm, face, leg, and back burnt, and it is surprising he is still able to play today. The burns were very severe.

5. Ace Frehley

Ace Frehley, the guitarist from KISS, ended up touching a metal railing during one of the band’s gigs in 1976. However, what he didn’t know was that this would complete an electrical current with the guitar he was playing. He was thrown back by the shock, which allowed him to let go of the railing. Otherwise, he could’ve been electrocuted to death.

Final Thoughts

Rock stars might look powerful and free, but they are still humans and at risk of injuries if they’re not careful. Anyone dealing with a personal injury should look into a lawyer to make sure they get compensation, and the same goes for rock stars if they are injured because of someone else on stage. Every area has its own lawyers. So, you can find New York personal injury lawyers or a Clarksville personal injury lawyer depending on your location. These specialists can help you deal with your personal injury case so that you can get the compensation you deserve.
