Vampire Valentine set second single ‘Cutting Ties’ for July 10 on Morella Records

Newcastle darkwave band Vampire Valentine release their second single “Cutting Ties” on July 10, 2026 via Morella Records, before their August debut album.

Vampire Valentine, the darkwave band from Newcastle upon Tyne, will release their second single “Cutting Ties” on July 10, 2026 through Morella Records. The Vampire Valentine “Cutting Ties” single arrives ahead of the band’s self-titled debut album, now confirmed for August 28, 2026, and follows the June single “In The Dark”.

Vampire Valentine mix gothic rock, post-punk and darkwave, with driving basslines and reverb-heavy guitars. “Cutting Ties” was recorded by Michael Longstaff on vocals, Kieron Wright on bass and Morella founder Blake Carpenter on guitar, with Ricky Conover and Tony Gunk producing. The single includes a free instrumental version as a bonus track.

Morella Records describes “Cutting Ties” as “a track that tells a story of two past lovers who should let each other go and move on to protect themselves and better themselves for it.” It is the second single drawn from the self-titled debut album, which the label has dated to August 28, 2026. The first single, “In The Dark”, arrived on June 19, 2026.

Pre-saves open on July 3, 2026 through Bandcamp and the label’s pre-save link, ahead of the July 10 release.

About Vampire Valentine

Vampire Valentine formed in October 2025 in Newcastle upon Tyne, founded by singer and producer Michael Longstaff and bassist and guitarist Kieron Wright, with US producer Ricky Conover contributing synth and production work. The band mixes gothic rock, post-punk and darkwave, and cites The Sisters of Mercy and Twin Tribes among its influences.

The band signed to Morella Records as the label’s first act in January 2026. Morella Records is an independent label founded in 2026 by Blake Carpenter and based in Georgia, in the United States, with a roster spanning goth rock, deathrock, darkwave and post-punk. Across 2026 Vampire Valentine released the album “Dry Remains” and the “Pale Dawn” EP, followed by the single “In The Dark” on June 19, 2026. “Cutting Ties”, out July 10, 2026, is the second single from their self-titled debut album, due August 28, 2026.
