Philipp Münch releases ‘krankpop’ EP on Ant-Zen with Babsi Teichner
Philipp Münch releases “krankpop”, a six-track post-industrial EP made with Babsi Teichner, out 23 June 2026 on Ant-Zen as a 7″ lathe-cut and digital.
Philipp Münch, the German musician behind Synapscape and The Rorschach Garden, has released “krankpop”, a six-track EP on the Ant-Zen label. The record came out on 23 June 2026 as a square 7-inch lathe-cut vinyl with a digital download, credited to Münch alongside Babsi Teichner, with whom he also works in The Rorschach Garden and Mandelbrot.
“krankpop” runs six tracks: “Let’s Go,” “Train Crash,” “Prescriptions,” “We Believe,” “Trust in Drugs” and “Breathe in and out.” “Trust in Drugs” is a cover of a track by M.O.A.T.A. (Omen), the project of Sven Pügge. The 7-inch lathe-cut edition carries a shorter three-track program — “Let’s Go” plus vinyl edits of “Train Crash” and “We Believe” — pressed on clear vinyl with a cover printed on acrylic glass. Münch handled voices, synths, rhythms, treatments and production, while Teichner contributed metal percussion, synths, singing saw, treatments and noise, the pair recording the material in 2025. Ant-Zen describes the EP as “a deliberate exercise in minimalist constraint,” built from “abrasive, fractured textures and monolithic rhythms.”
Münch has worked in industrial and rhythmic-noise music since the early 1990s; Side-Line spoke with one of his projects in the Click Interview with The Rorschach Garden, and Ant-Zen continues to issue post-industrial records such as the one covered in David Thrussell and Flint Glass on Ant-Zen.

Philipp Münch is a German electronic musician based in Bielefeld whose work spans industrial, rhythmic noise and electro. He founded The Rorschach Garden in 1988 and co-founded Ars Moriendi in 1989. In 1994 he formed Synapscape, the rhythmic-noise duo with Tim Kniep that debuted on Ant-Zen in 1995, and Mandelbrot. He began releasing solo albums in 2011, including “Greyscale” (2018) and “Tales From The Lower Cave” (2025), both on Ant-Zen. Ant-Zen, founded in 1993 in Lappersdorf, Germany, remains a reference point for industrial and power-noise music, and “krankpop” reunites Münch with Babsi Teichner on a short EP the label calls “brooding angstpop.”
