Paradox Obscur release new single ‘Switch To Love’ via Metropolis

Paradox Obscur
Greek synth duo Paradox Obscur have released a new single titled “Switch To Love” via Metropolis Records. The track is the second preview from their upcoming album “IKONA”, which will be out on 12th September.
The single is available on digital platforms and accompanied by a music video directed by Venezuelan filmmaker Mariangela Pluchino. Shot on 16mm film, the video features cinematography by Ville Piippo (Finland) and blends neo-noir aesthetics with the duo’s signature retro synthwave style.
“Switch To Love” follows their April single “Lose This Feeling“, a reinterpretation of the 2023 Armin van Buuren track, which introduced a dreamy synthpop approach to the trance original.
The duo state that “IKONA” represents their “most expressionistic work to date,” composed entirely in real time using hardware synthesizers and drum machines. According to the band, the album “preserves the classic essence of contemporary electronic music while forging a uniquely timeless aesthetic.”
Pre-orders for “IKONA” are available now on Bandcamp.
About Paradox Obscur
Paradox Obscur was formed in 2014 by Kriistal Ann and Toxic Razor in Rhodes, Greece. The duo is known for creating music using only hardware synthesizers and drum machines, deliberately avoiding computers in both composition and performance.
In 2021, they signed to Metropolis Records to issue the compilation “Singles & Rarities”, followed by the studio album “Morphogenesis” in 2022. Earlier works include “Anacrusis” and “Artifact”. The project combines minimal synth, darkwave, and synthpop influences, with thematic elements ranging from personal introspection to cultural commentary.

Strip out the promo nonsense, verify what’s actually real, and decide which stories make the cut and which get tossed into the digital void. Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
