The San Diego-based darkwave/industrial trio Matte Blvck has released the single “Soulless,” issued by Breathing Records as part of the label compilation “Inhale Vol. I.” The compilation is due digitally on November 14, 2025, with vinyl edition (with artist booklet) shipping in December 2025. The song follows the group’s 2025 album “Vows.”
“Soulless” is presented by the band as a track about finding oneself after disillusionment. “Faith freed from illusion, light reborn in darkness, a soul remembering its source,” as vocalist/producer Alex Gonzales puts it.
Inhale Vol. I is a 10-track LP featuring 10 artists active in the avant-garde, underground, industrial, and dark electronic music scene. For this limited run, the LP has been pressed onto dark cherry 140g vinyl by A-Z Media in Portland, OR. You’ll also receive a high quality artist booklet inside the gatefold jacket.

Matte Blvck are a San Diego, California trio consisting of Alex Gonzales, Daniel Corrales, and Bidi Cobra. The group began working on their own material in 2019, issuing their debut album “I’m Waving, Not Drowning” in November 2020 (self-released, later pressed on vinyl).
A remix set followed in 2022. Their second album, “Vows,” arrived in 2025.
