ATVS – Unveiling The Unseen (Digital Album – Mindtrick Records)

ATVS is a fresh Dutch project born from the collaboration of two artists: Atiq (aka Guido van den Brink, owner of Mindtrick Records) and eVS (aka Erik van Schie). Their debut release features five tracks that draw heavily on Techno elements, with a distinctly dark and experimental edge. At times, this approach evolves into more structured IDM influences. The songs unfold gradually, enveloped in a brooding atmosphere, culminating in a final track that exudes an icy, chilling quality with its subtle arrangements. While not an immediately accessible listen, this debut offers a rich and rewarding experience for those with a taste for the unconventional. (Rating:8).

About ATVS
ATVS is the collaborative project of Dutch electronic artists Guido van den Brink, who records as Atiq and founded the Rotterdam label Mindtrick Records, and Erik van Schie, active as eVS. Their debut EP “Unveiling The Unseen” was released on October 4, 2024 on Mindtrick Records and contains five tracks: “The Unseen”, “Savoring Astringency”, “Unbearable Awareness”, “Pulse Jam” and “The Void’s Embrace”. Mastering was handled by Caspar Koster at Hidden Studios, with artwork by Erik van Schie.
Van den Brink also teams up with German producer Dennis Leick, aka Dreadmaul, in Rites Of Passage, whose self-titled debut album appeared on Mindtrick Records in November 2024. “Unveiling The Unseen” is the first release under the ATVS name.

I have been working for over 30 years with Side-line as the main reviewer. My taste is eclectic, uncoventional and I prefer to look for the pearls, even if the bands are completely unknown, thus staying loyal to the Side-Line philosophy of nurturing new talents.
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
The donations are safely powered by Paypal.
