Ultra Sunn – The Beast In You (Digital/CD/Vinyl Album – Artoffact Records)
The Brussels duo Ultra Sunn is undoubtedly one of the Belgian Electro phenomena of recent years. After several successful EPs and the brilliant “US” album released in 2024, they returned in 2025 with this follow-up. The album contains ten songs inspired, among other things, by inner struggles.
The now-familiar title track, which opens the album, immediately reveals what Ultra Sunn stands for: a mature production that, despite a certain minimalism, is flawlessly executed. Various influences—often traceable to Electro-Wave and EBM—merge into an extremely danceable and melodic whole. The music sounds chilly yet is interwoven with warm synth lines, topped by the unique, deep, and charismatic voice of Sam Huge.
Ranging from catchy tracks to heavier songs driven by solid EBM basslines, almost every track manages to surprise in some way.
Ultra Sunn continues its conquest of the Electro scene, and “The Beast In You” contains several tracks that will resonate with fans for a long time to come. (Rating:8½).
