French electro-punk and industrial-metal duo Krystal System have released a new three-track EP, “Éclats Rouges” (French for ‘Red Splinters’), via Alfa Matrix. The digital EP marks the band’s first studio output since their 2013 full-length album “Rage”.

The new EP features the aggressive title track “Éclats Rouges”, the bilingual B-side “Skippy Bop”, and a reworked version of their 2011 track “Nuclear Winter”, now titled “Newclear Winter”.

“Éclats Rouges” is available as a digital download and as streaming. Note that the band is now joined by bassist φ (Phi).

Here’s the video teaser for “Éclats Rouges”.

About Krystal System

Krystal System was founded in Paris, France, in April 2006 by Bonnie (vocals, guitar) and N°7 (also stylized as Seven; vocals, synths, programming). Initially performing under the name Krystal, the duo gained early exposure through the 2007 International Cravefest Video Awards.

In late 2008, the band signed to Belgian label Alfa Matrix and adopted the name Krystal System. Their debut album, “Underground” (2008) was followed by the 2011 album “Nuclear” and the 2013 release “Rage”.

Their signature sound is characterized by a mix of melodic guitar riffs, electronic rhythms, and alternating male and female vocals.

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
