Depeche Mode and canceled concerts, they have gone hand in hand for the past few months. This time the unfortunate fans were those from San Diego who saw the August 14th gig at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater canceled, "due to doctor's orders that lead singer Dave Gahan continue on complete vocal rest" so fans got mailed the day of the concert itself. Because of their busy schedule, a new San Diego date will not be rescheduled this year the message ended. In a reaction Dave Gahan said: "We are incredibly disappointed to not be able to perform for our fans tonight in San Diego, we hope to be back soon to play for all our fans in the area."

Refunds for the canceled concert will be issued at the point of purchase. The tour resumed on Sunday with the band's sold out two night stand at the Hollywood Bowl. If it didn't get canceled in the meantime that is... It does look like it that Depeche Mode is busy breaking the world record of most canceled concerts ever 'during' a tour. We wish Gahan a speedy recovery though!
