After Gun Records founder Wolfgang Funk left the label in December, Sony now announces that it will close down the Bochum, Northrhine-Westphalia, Germany based label for good. The current Gun artist roster is now being partially taken care of by the Berlin department of Sony Music, while international acts are being handled by Sony 's international division in Munich. National acts are expected to be marketed through the Sony sub-labels Four Music or Columbia Germany. Gun Records aka Great Unlimited Noises was founded in 1992 by Bogdan Kopec and Wolfgang Funk. Both created a joined venture with BMG. Signed to the label are such bands as Apoptygma Berzerk, Within Temptation and Oomph! to name just a few.
