Heaven 17 will release a new album at the end of the month: "Naked as Advertised - Versions '08" to be released through Just Music. The album features a selection of tracks derived from the band's live set, each newly recorded especially for the album, including classic tracks, covers, oddities and rarities. The British synthpop band originated from the city of Sheffield in the early 1980s taking their name from a fictional pop group mentioned in Anthony Burgess's novel "A Clockwork Orange". Major chart success eluded them until the single "Temptation" (on which they were augmented by vocalist Carol Kenyon, a former backing singer for Isaac Hayes), reached #2 in the UK charts in summer 1983. In December 2008 Heaven 17 will tour the UK as part of the Sheffield band line up for "The Steel City Tour" alongside The Human League and ABC.
Here's the 1983 clip of "Temptation".
