Vocalist Love Spirals Downwards returns with 'Aitu' EP under Melodyguild monikkerPosted on 29/04/08
Suzanne Perry, the vocalist for Love Spirals Downwards, returns with her first new work in almost a decade under the Melodyguild moniker. The quartet just released the 4-track EP "Aitu" is released via the Projekt Records label. The tracks on the EP are the following: "Panamint", "Accomplice", "Flicker", "Un parallel".
In 2002 Projekt released Lovespirals' first full-length CD, "Windblown Kiss", which did not include longtime LSD vocalist Suzanne Perry (nor Kristen Perry or Jennifer Wilde). Soon after, Projekt announced that Perry would release an EP under the band name, Melodyguild, in 2003. The release was pushed back several times before disappearing from the label's site. However, in December 2006 Projekt released a label sampler CD with a Melodyguild song listed as "from the 'Aitu (maxi CD)'," set for 2007 release, which now finally pops up.
Melodyguild was formed by Suzanne Perry and the ex-members of The Von Trapps (which evolved out of the Los Angeles Ethereal/Dream Pop band, Elysium), Matt Gleason and John West. More info on the band can be found at www.myspace.com/melodyguild .

ELYSIUM was one of those great bands from the So. California scene which should have been signed to Tess Records [unfortunately Tess ceased and the band sort of came on the scene too late to get the support they deserved] - great to see two talents merging into one great band !!
