Freebase is a brand new project from The Smiths' Andy Rourke, New Order's Peter Hook and The Stone Roses' Mani. The three bassist supergroup has now started recording material with the vocal aid of such singers as Tim Burgess from The Charlatans, Liam Gallagher from oasis, Ian Brown from The Stone Roses and finally and Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie. The main project members also plan to get the complete line-up up on stage as well for a couple of live gigs. So far the Freebase project is not signed to a label yet, but seeing the line-up, there's no doubt that there will be more than just a bit of interest.
