Staytus drops new single ‘The God, The Artist, & The Creator’

Staytus
Los Angeles-based electro-industrial artist Staytus releases her new single “The God, The Artist, & The Creator” on December 12, 2025, tomorrow that is. The track can already be pre-saved and follows the 2023 album “Wasteland of Broken Hearts” and a run of singles in 2024–2025.
Recorded at Revolver Recording Studio in Thousand Oaks, California, “The God, The Artist, & The Creator” was produced by Mikal Blue, whose previous studio work includes OneRepublic, Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz and Five for Fighting. Drummer Jeff Friedl (A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, DEVO, The Beta Machine, Kesha, Filter) provides live percussion, while Patrick “Embryo” Tapu contributes guitar textures and Anthony Laurie of Thredge adds further layers to the arrangement.
Lyrically, the new electro-industrial single focuses on how worship, sexuality and artistic process intersect. Staytus adds that she wanted the song to feel like “a prayer whispered in the dark and a confession of desire at the same time.”
A music video for “The God, The Artist, & The Creator” was directed and shot by Jessica Christian (Lovesquish) and will be launched next week, on December 19, 2025.
About Staytus
Staytus is the musical project of Scottsdale, Arizona-born musician, producer and audio engineer Sam Grundemann, active in the industrial-electronic and nu-metal-adjacent scenes and currently working out of the Los Angeles area.
The earliest releases under the Staytus moniker date from 2020 with the digital single “Always On.” In 2022 she released her debut album “Disease of the Mind“, a 13-track set issued digitally. The album introduced her blend of elaborate synth work, distorted guitars and programmed beats.
Her second full-length, “Wasteland of Broken Hearts”, followed on 27 October 2023 and continued her industrial-pop and electro-metal trajectory across 11 tracks such as “Destroyed”, “Near Death”, “Lovesick”, “Depravity Bites”, “Get Down” and “Paralyzed”.
From 2023 onward, Staytus launched a string of standalone singles and a film-inspired series. Tracks such as “Lovesick” and “Depravity Bites” were accompanied with official videos, while the “Twisted Frames” collection – “68 Kill”, “Suburban Gothic”, “King Knight” and “How To Be A Serial Killer” – took direct inspiration from films associated with actor and director Matthew Gray Gubler.
In 2025 she launched the singles “Suburban Gothic” and “King Knight” with contributions from bassist and producer Matt McJunkins. Recent singles including “Can You Hear Me?“, “Heart Attack”, “Headache” and “Kiss N Tell”, all produced with Sean Beavan and Mikal Blue.

Strip out the promo nonsense, verify what’s actually real, and decide which stories make the cut and which get tossed into the digital void. Outside the news filter bubble, I’m all in for quality sushi and helping raise funds for Ukraine’s ongoing fight against the modern-day axis of evil.
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
