Background/Info: British duo Room Of Wires saw the daylight in 2013. They already released a considerable number of productions, but now joined hands together with Ant-Zen to unleash “Plague Of People”.
Content: The debut tracks directly introduce the listener to the melodic, Experimental and Cinematic sound universe of the project. The tracks have something dreamy-like although there’s a darker and unpolished aspect, which is more Experimental-like. Some tracks are mixing anti-poles; pure, sweet reverie music together with distorted sequences and noise-like field recordings. Other passages are carried by heavier, bombastic rhythms and here again intermixed with space-like melody passages.
+ + + : The sound of this album is complex, sophisticated and yet easy accessible. I like the sound intelligence of the production, which has something visionary. Good-old Ambient-Electro always had this space-like sensation, which is true for Room Of Wires, but it sounds darker, and accomplished with a very personal touch. It’s another dimension of ambient music. There are many cool songs featured at this work, but I’ll recommend listening to “Alcohole” to seize the approach of the project, “Scenic Route” for its complexity and the mix of opposite elements and “Silent Lines” for its deep, vibrating bass line.
– – – : The album is maybe missing an ultimate point of sonic ecstasy, but globally speaking this is a successful opus.
Conclusion: Room Of Wires is merging different influences together to get a progressive kind of Ambient music.

Room Of Wires is a British electronic duo formed in 2013. The pair state that they have never met and work only through the exchange of material, using synthesizers, computers, field recordings and self-built software. Their catalogue takes in EPs, albums, compilation contributions and film scores.
“Plague Of People” was released by Ant-Zen on 13 April 2021 as a digital album, written and produced by the duo with imagery by Giorgi Darsadze. The ten tracks are “Plague Of People”, “Alcohole”, “Euphoricore”, “Harshlands”, “Crystal Shaol”, “Scenic Route”, “Block Hammer”, “Dust Map”, “You Pluckers” and “Silent Lines”. An official video for “Alcohole” accompanied the release.
Earlier releases include the “Used As A Runner” and “Black Medicine” EPs on Section 27, the 2018 album “White Transit” and the 2021 “Fever Switch” EP on Rednetic Recordings. Ant-Zen followed with Room Of Wires – Welcome To The End Game (Album – Ant-Zen) in 2023 and “Carbon Based Shrine” in 2024, while the duo self-released Room Of Wires – If No Other Means Are Effective (Digital Album – Room Of Wires) in 2026.
