Qui Plastique covers Martin Gore on 'UnMute' EP via Town And Towers Records
Danish/UK electronic act Oui Plastique have reissued their 3-track EP “UnMute” via Town And Towers Records. Originally recorded in 2018 for the UnMute project – a tribute to Mute Records – the remastered version is available from today on across all major digital platforms.
The release includes new vocal takes and updated mastering. “In some cases, they re-recorded vocals that had been lost over time,” Town And Towers Records says. “As a result, the 2025 versions sound a little different—but hopefully a lot better.”
Originally only available on Bandcamp, “UnMute” has now been released for wider distribution following a remastering process requested by the label.
The tracklist includes:
- “Compulsion” – written by Joe Crow, popularized by Martin Gore on his solo EP Counterfeit
- “The Bottom Line” – written by Martin Gore, originally released by Depeche Mode
- “It Doesn’t Matter Two” – written by Martin Gore, featuring Bridget Gray (The Rude Awakening)

About Martin Gore
Martin Lee Gore, born July 23, 1961, in Dagenham, Essex, England, is the primary songwriter, keyboardist, and occasional vocalist for the iconic band Depeche Mode.
Gore’s musical journey began in Basildon, where he met bandmates Vince Clarke, Dave Gahan, and Andy Fletcher. Initially playing guitar and keyboards, he took on a more prominent songwriting role after Clarke’s departure in 1981.
Beyond Depeche Mode, Gore has pursued solo projects, releasing albums like “Counterfeit” (1989) and “MG” (2015), showcasing his more experimental side. He also performs as a DJ and has collaborated with his former bandmate Vince Clarke in the duo VCMG.
Gore’s contributions have been central to Depeche Mode’s success, with over 100 million records sold globally. Despite personal challenges, including struggles with alcoholism, he continues to roduce music. Gore resides in the United States.
