Metroland concludes ‘Forum’ cycle with digital ‘Reset’ EP – Out now

Metroland concludes “Forum” album cycle with “Reset” EP
Belgian electronic duo Metroland has released “Reset”, the fourth and final EP associated with their concept album “Forum”. Available digitally via Alfa Matrix, and first on Bandcamp before hitting all other platforms next week, the EP continues the band’s thematic exploration of global industrial transformation, drawing inspiration from the World Economic Forum’s “Great Reset” initiative.
“Reset” features two new versions of the title track: “The Smaller Reset”, a condensed edit, and “The Greater Reset”, a high-tempo remix designed for club settings. Additionally, the EP includes an exclusive non-album track, “Improving the State of the World”, which references the WEF’s tagline and aligns with Metroland’s ongoing critique of techno-industrial idealism.
This release concludes the four-part EP series linked to the “Forum” album, which has addressed themes such as data governance, urban transformation, and digital control.
About Metroland
Metroland was established in 2012 in Belgium by members known as Passenger A and Passenger S. The duo focuses on minimalistic synth structures and conceptual electronic music, initially centering on urban transportation systems, as showcased in their debut album “Mind The Gap”.
Subsequent albums such as “Triadic Ballet” (2015), “Things Will Never Sound The Same Again” (2016), and “Men In A Frame” (2018) expanded their thematic scope to include subjects like the Bauhaus movement and digital surveillance. In 2023, they released “0”, followed by the 2024 album “Forum”, each accompanied by a series of digital EPs.
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
