Los Angeles darkwave duo LUCKYANDLOVE have release their third album “Humaura” today, on October 31, 2025 via SRD – Southern Record Distributors (140-gram black vinyl with insert) with a digital rollout via IDOL. The record is available to order now on Bandcamp and the LUCKYANDLOVE Store.
“Humaura” (pronounced hu • mau • ra) is described by the band as “the atmosphere that emanates from the feelings of the human spirit void of technological control.” The album was recorded, mixed and digitally mastered by engineer Be Hussey at Balboa Studio and Catwater, and mastered for vinyl/lathe cut by engineer Nicholas Townsend at Townsend Mastering.
“This is an action-packed, cinematic, entertaining and soulful electro-dance record full of fresh air and wide-open roads where there is more freedom to party, to be in nature, and to be our wild selves,” says April Love, adding that the duo “made art, took nature trips, [and] worked on ourselves” during the pandemic period that formed the album. Loren Luck comments: “By truly going ‘underground’ during the making of this album, we were taking back our lives… once you make peace with that, your thinking becomes free, so now we’re free to make the rules.”
Three official videos have preceded the album: “Secret Is Out,” “Lonely At Night,” and “I Am Human.” Watch them below.
The band next performs December 13, 2025 at Mojave Gold (Yucca Valley, CA) for Luna Negra Goth Nights Presents, with Blaklight and Dead Energy.
About LUCKYANDLOVE
LUCKYANDLOVE is the Los Angeles duo Loren Luck and April Love. The project formed in 2014 in Silver Lake; the name references The Good Luck Bar, where the pair first met.
Early material appeared on the self-released debut album “Lucky+Love” (2017), distributed through SRD (catalog LNL001). The second album “Transitions” followed in 2019. Both records led to U.S. and U.K. tour dates and sync placements, including tracks in the indie feature “Tiger Within”. “Humaura” is the duo’s third full-length.
Chief editor of Side-Line – which basically means I spend my days wading through a relentless flood of press releases from labels, artists, DJs, and zealous correspondents. My job? Strip out the promo nonsense, verify what’s actually real, and decide which stories make the cut and which get tossed into the digital void. Outside the news filter bubble, I’m all in for quality sushi and helping raise funds for Ukraine’s ongoing fight against the modern-day axis of evil.
Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
The donations are safely powered by Paypal.
