The Serbian EBM/industrial project Figurative Theatre has released the digital compilation “Best of Figurative Theatre 2010–2025” via Crime:Scene Records. The set collects 15 years of material and introduces a new line-up with the 2025 single “Dah oluje.”

Guests include Dario Seraval (Borghesia) on the track “Hej radniče!”, Ponoćni Vodeničar (Katabazija/Ludwig Ludwig) on the track “Molitva” and Canadian act L.o.W on the track “InnerSpace”. The ecording and production was executed by Katarina Živanović, Peđa Živanović, Vladimir Popović; with guitars on “Dah oluje” by Vasilije Živanović.

The compilation is available digitally (pay-what-you-want) on Bandcamp. Crime:Scene describes it as a bridge between eras: “The compilation … marks the conclusion of the era of the old lineup … [and] includes the single ‘Dah oluje,’ created at the beginning of 2025.”

“Dah oluje” appears here in its 2025 version and has also been issued under the band’s Black Planet Records 2.0 umbrella.

About Figurative Theatre

This EBM/industrial project hails from Niš, Serbia. The project traces its origins to the late 1990s, 1998 to be precise.

During the 2010s, the core line-up featured Peđa Živanović and Katarina Živanović with guitarist Vladimir Popović; under this formation the band issued the two-part album “Svet će opet biti savršen” through their own Black Planet Records, a DIY label founded in Niš by members of Figurative Theatre.

Across the 2010s–2020s the group released digital albums and singles through Black Planet Records, and collaborated within the ex-Yugoslav underground. The current stage line-up is centered on Peđa Živanović (vocals/synths), Katarina Živanović (loops/sampling/rhythm machine) and Vasilije Živanović (guitar), with “Dah oluje” marking the first appearance of Vasilije in the studio role following the passing of Vladimir Popović.

Crime:Scene Records operates from Novi Sad, Serbia, and has been active since 2007 with a catalog focused on industrial/ambient/experimental music from the ex-Yugoslav region. Black Planet Records is a Niš-based DIY label founded by members of Figurative Theatre, active in compilations and local scene documentation.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
