Dayofwrath – And The World Will Perish In Flames (Digital/CD Album – Cyclic Law)
Dayofwrath’s debut album was originally released on cassette by Cloister Recordings in 2021. This year, Cyclic Law released the work on CD, featuring the four original tracks inspired by an imminent apocalypse that almost certainly spells the end of our world.
The four pieces generate a constant, unrelenting intensity in which linear rhythms and Industrial textures collide, merging with harsh, ferocious vocals that resemble the screams of a man possessed. Guitars and electronic layers pull the listener into a state of disorientation—at times sounding genuinely tormented and even malevolent. I suspect there is room for improvisation here, though I won’t claim whether these moments truly are improvised, as if captured during a live jam.
These four tracks seize you by the throat and stand as a powerful example of high-quality Death-Industrial. (Rating:8).
