‘Annihilation Protocol’ and the Astral Possession sound

In its own description, the project frames “Annihilation Protocol” around “the aesthetics of anti-humanism, nihilism, and cyber-warfare”. A review published by Industrial Complexx on May 26, 2026 describes the project as “the alias of Alexander Panov, a Ukrainian producer who since last year has been self-releasing a series of recordings built on the foundations of industrial, power electronics, dark ambient, and noise.” The same review characterises the album’s sound as “martial, avant-garde, and at certain moments a kind of military pop pushed to the outer limits of its own logic”, and connects the record to Panov’s experience of the war in Ukraine.
