Soulsavers joined in studio by Depeche Mode vocalist Dave GahanPosted on 07/02/12
Soulsavers, the band that supported Depeche Mode during the European leg of their "Tour of the Universe" in late 2009, have recorded a project with Depeche Mode's Dave Gahan on vocals. According to a tweet from one of the web masters behind Home, the project "has entered the mix/mastering stage."
Soulsavers (also known as The Soulsavers Soundsystem) are an English production and remix team composed of Rich Machin and Ian Glover. The band brings downtempo electronica with influences of rock, gospel, soul, and country. To date, the duo has released three albums: "Tough Guys Don't Dance" in 2003, "It's Not How Far You Fall, It's the Way You Land" (with Mark Lanegan and others) in 2007, and "Broken" in 2009.
It's not the first time the duo works with guest singers. Soulsavers' third album, "Broken" had Mark Lanegan featured as the main vocalist next to musicians such as Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, ...), Jason Pierce (Spiritualized, Spacemen 3), Richard Hawley, and Gibby Haynes (Butthole Surfers).
They haven't been on our radar before though. Check this video to find out how they sound or check after the jump.
