Peter Hook opens new Manchester club FAC251 with New Order and Joy Division songs
Peter Hook opened the new Manchester club FAC251 (on February 6th) with his band The Light playing New Order, Joy Division, Monaco and Freebass tracks. Hook was joined onstage by Primal Scream and former Stone Roses bassist Mani, Howard Marks, Garry Briggs, Rowetta and his son Jack. The 17-song set was opened with the Freebass songs "Dark Starr" and "You Don't Know" followed by songs such as Monaco's "What Do You Want From Me", New Order's "Ceremony" and Joy Division's "Transmission" and "Interzone". The set was closed with Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" followed by an encore of New Order's "Blue Monday" (see the - poor - video footage after the jump). Joy Division fans will be delighted to hear that the final Joy Division track "Pictures" was also premiered. The song which was penned in 1978 has only recently been finished.
