The Dreams Never End – Alma Partida (Digital/CD Album – Anti Demos Cracia)
The Dreams Never End is a Portuguese band that launched in 2014 and has primarily released a handful of singles. They are now striking back with their third album, which features 10 tracks.
For non-Portuguese listeners, the vocals are particularly noteworthy, as all but one track are sung in their native language. Musically, the album unfolds as an atmospheric Dark-Wave production, drawing its power largely from its dark, dreamy qualities — enhanced by beautiful string arrangements. The music also carries a subtle astral element, supported by deep, resonant bass lines. In my view, the vocal production could be slightly more dynamic, as it occasionally comes across as a bit monotonous.
Overall, “Alma Partida” is a commendable album that will appeal to fans of calm, atmospheric Dark-Wave, offering an immersive and introspective listening experience. (Rating:7).
