Canadian-German dark synth-pop act Psyche has released a new compilation CD titled “Future Memories” via VUZ Records. The release is available in physical format and also as download and streaming. The album offers a retrospective of extended versions and new edits, functioning both as a “Best Of” and a gateway for new listeners.

Presented in a digipack edition, “Future Memories” spans thirteen tracks that mirror the setlists of Psyche’s recent 1980s-focused live shows. The collection includes updated versions of classics such as “Prisoner To Desire (Re-Animated Mix)”, “Broken Heart (Extended Mix)”, and the “Immortality Mix” of “Goodbye Horses”, alongside the previously unreleased “Misery (Extended Mix)”. The compilation also features 12″ and club remixes.

About Psyche

Psyche is a Canadian synthpop and darkwave band formed in 1982 in Edmonton, Alberta, by brothers Darrin and Stephen Huss. Known for their pioneering electronic sound, they blended influences from 1980s European acts like Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk with introspective, poetic lyrics.

Their early work, including the seminal 1985 album “Insomnia Theatre”, featured raw, minimalist synth melodies. The band relocated to Waterloo, Ontario, in the mid-1980s, where they released fan favorites like “Unveiling the Secret” (1986), a club hit in Europe, and “The Influence” (1989), which showcased a polished, danceable edge.

After Stephen left in 1991, Darrin continued the project, collaborating with vocalists like David Kristian and later Per-Anders Kurenbach. The band’s sound evolved, incorporating darker, cinematic elements, as heard in albums like “Daydream Avenue” (1991) and “The 11th Hour” (2005).

The project released over 20 albums. Below are some of the band’s most famous tracks.
