Mexican electro-industrial duo Hocico and Mexican-American cholo goth act Prayers release their joint single “Hey Tú!” on 19 December 2025 via Out Of Line Music. The collaboration appears as a limited Minimax picture MaxiCD and a super-limited picture-7″ single.

While the download and picture DigiCD include 4 tracks, the picture 7″ single holds just 2 tracks, “Hey Tu!” and “Hey Tú! (Cómete tu Mierda H-RMX)”.

About Hocico

The Mexican electro-industrial / aggrotech duo formed in 1993 in Mexico City by cousins Erk Aicrag (Erik Garcia) on vocals and lyrics and Racso Agroyam (Oscar Mayorga) on programming and synthesizers. Before they started their main project, they worked together in projects such as Niñera Degenerada and Hocico de Perro, building an early cassette discography in the first half of the 1990s.

The band released its debut album “Odio Bajo El Alma” in 1997 on the Mexican label Opción Sónica, with European distribution via Out Of Line. This was followed by releases including the live album “Los Hijos Del Infierno” and the studio album “Sangre Hirviente” at the end of the 1990s.

Through the 2000s and 2010s the duo built a catalogue that includes “Signos de Aberración” (2002), “Wrack and Ruin” (2004), “Memorias Atrás” (2008), “Tiempos de Furia” (2010), “El Último Minuto (Antes de que Tu Mundo Caiga)” (2012) and the retrospective “Los Días Caminando En El Fuego” (2013).

Later full-length releases include “Ofensor” (2015), “Artificial Extinction” (2019) and “Hyperviolent” (2022), all released through Out Of Line and supported by international touring.

In 2025, the band followed the album “Hyperviolent” with new material including the EP “The Screen”.

About Prayers

Prayers is a Mexican-American project founded in 2013 in San Diego, California, by vocalist and visual artist Rafael Reyes, also known as Leafar Seyer. The group originally functioned as a duo with synthesizer player Dave Parley and combined darkwave, electronic rock and synth-pop elements with references to Chicano street culture.

Reyes introduced the term cholo goth to describe Prayers’ sound and aesthetic, with lyrics that refer to gang life, spiritual themes and personal history. Early recordings include the independently released album “SD Killwave” (2013) and the EP “Gothic Summer” (2014), which were supported by self-produced videos and regional touring.

In 2015 Prayers released the album “Young Gods,” produced by Travis Barker and promoted through singles such as the title track and a cover of “West End Girls.” Later work includes collaborations with members of Christian Death on the EP “Cursed Be Thy Blessings” and the 2022 album “Chologoth – The Return Of Pluto,” issued on Reyes’ own label and featuring guest contributions from musicians such as Annie Hardy and Robert Harvey.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
