Besides his involvement in several other projects—including the well-known Paradox Obscur—’Toxic Razor’ also continues to release a steady stream of material. The latest example is this new release from Hardware Pulse, which feels more like a mini-album than a full-length record.

The eight tracks are once again crafted exclusively with hardware synths and stylistically fuse EBM with early Techno influences. At times, an Acid sequence slips in, while the closing track blends Dance with Future-Pop elements. Vocals are present as well, though always processed and pitched to create an otherworldly effect—a technique familiar from certain Techno productions. The result evokes the spirit of the best moments of 90s Dance music.

While Hardware Pulse is certainly not Paradox Obscur, it nevertheless serves as an ideal creative outlet for this creative and prolific Greek artist. (Rating:7).

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
