Anyone reading the name ‘Racso Agroyam’ will immediately know who Hocico fans are referring to. Indeed, Oscar Mayorga (his real name) is a member of the renowned Mexican band Hocico. With his solo project Dulce Líquido, he experimented with more Industrial-oriented sounds in the early 2000s, releasing two albums during that period. “Mind Domination” is the first new album since 2003, although it was preceded by two singles. Released at the end of 2025, the album contains 17 tracks. A 4-CD box set is also available, featuring all previously unreleased material.

To me, this album feels like a rediscovery of a long-forgotten project. It certainly can’t be compared to Hocico’s Dark-Electro—which, in my opinion, is a good thing. While it remains hard and at times furious, it leans more toward a fusion of Dark-Techno and Industrial. The production deliberately leaves an unpolished, brutal impression. The music is built upon an impressive arsenal of sounds and effects, with explicit samplings appearing here and there. I also noticed a few rare passages of Acid sequences, but overall the album firmly resides within the Dark/Hard-Techno realm, sure to terrorize many a dance floor.

This is an album where the listener will find no peace—only sweat under relentless, punishing beats. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a job well done. (Rating:8).

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
