Industrial metal pioneers Die Krupps have unveiled their new video single “Will nicht – MUSS!”, taken from the exclusive tour EP “Will nicht – MUSS! / On Collision Course”. The EP was initially available only as a hand-numbered CD edition during the band’s sold-out 45th anniversary European tour.
The band and Dependent Records have confirmed two limited vinyl editions – a 45th Anniversary gatefold LP filled with petrol-green liquid (limited to 45 copies) and a transparent green gatefold LP version. Both will be released on December 12, 2025.
The “Will nicht – MUSS! / On Collision Course” EP includes guest appearances and remixes from members of Ministry, with whom Die Krupps recently completed a US tour. The title track is a return to the band’s signature fusion of industrial electronics and heavy guitar power.
About Die Krupps
Formed in Düsseldorf, Germany, in 1980 by Jürgen Engler and Bernward Malaka, Die Krupps are recognized as one of the founding forces of industrial and electro-metal. Emerging from Germany’s post-punk and EBM scenes, the group’s early releases such as “Stahlwerksynfonie” (1981) and “Volle Kraft voraus!” (1982) helped shape the rhythmic, mechanical sound later associated with industrial music.
Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, Die Krupps evolved into a more guitar-driven act, notably with albums like “I” (1992) and “II – The Final Option” (1993), pioneering the fusion of metal and electronics. Their work influenced numerous acts across industrial rock and EBM, from Front Line Assembly to Rammstein.
After a hiatus, the band re-emerged in the 2000s with Engler leading a revitalized lineup, continuing to tour internationally and release albums through Dependent Records and Metropolis Records. Their most recent studio album, “Songs from the Dark Side of Heaven” (2021), featured collaborations with artists from The Sisters of Mercy, Die Toten Hosen, and Front Line Assembly.

Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
