🇺🇦 Side-Line stands with Ukraine - Show your Support

Crime:Scene Records has announced the release of “Weird Cop”, a three-part compilation celebrating the life and work of late Serbian conceptual and industrial artist Đurađ Šimić. The collection is released exactly six months after his passing on May 6, 2025.

The 3-part set consists of three full-length albums, each reflecting a distinct facet of Šimić’s artistic identity:

“Let’s fuck forever” – an energetic dive into industrial rock, electro punk, and alternative electronics.
“Fogbank Waterdrops” – a more introspective journey through subdued, emotional tones and reflective moods.
“I am a star” – an experimental collection featuring glitch textures, unfinished pieces, and rare demos.

All music was composed and largely performed by Đurađ Šimić, with contributions from a wide circle of collaborators including Tubachin, Dejan Čančarević, Dejan Mrkalj Sivi, dreDDup, Trnje, Stephen Perkins, Ahmed, Antonov Vladimir, Veljko Onjin, Synthblasters, Strings for Segan, and Fancy Frogs.

Longtime friend and collaborator Mihajlo Obrenov oversaw the post-production, remixing, and mastering at DURU Studio in 2025, completing several unfinished recordings and ensuring the compilation captured the artist’s vision. Cover artwork was designed by Nenad Tasić.

In a joint statement, Crime:Scene Darkwave and Mihajlo Obrenov expressed their intent behind the project: “This is more than a compilation — it is a monument to a friend and a soul who gave everything to art. Đurađ’s music remains his most precious gift, still resonating among those who knew him and those who will discover him through these works.”

The entire trilogy is available for free streaming and download via Crime:Scene Records’ Bandcamp. Crime:Scene Records itself is an independent & non-profit record label specialized in experimental, dark, weird and underground music from ex-Yugoslavian region in Europe. It started in 2007. Since then they released several albums.

About Đurađ Šimić / Weird Cop

Born and based in Pančevo, Serbia, Đurađ Šimić was a multidisciplinary artist whose career spanned over three decades. As a musician, writer, performer, and video editor, he embodied the spirit of the Serbian underground, constantly pushing boundaries in industrial and experimental music.

Throughout his career, he contributed to numerous collaborative projects while maintaining a distinctive individual voice under the moniker Weird Cop.

Šimić participated in numerous projects, including Transeen, Klopka Za Pionira, Fancy Frogs, Gohatto, Christians Under Chemotherapy, The Rolling Sotones, and Strings for Segan.
