Bodega System – Mausoleum Options (Digital Album – Grant’s Tomb)
Bodega System is a mysterious American project based in New York. It’s been 30 years since Bodega System began releasing its Experimental productions, and this summer they returned with a new 7-track album.
Bodega System takes a unique approach to sound and songwriting, crafting an Experimental style that sometimes feels Glitchy, sometimes merges with Ambient atmospheres, and is often driven by Industrial soundscapes. The focus here is on sound itself — this album was created using an impressive arsenal of noises, effects, and field recordings, all recycled into something new to evoke a dark, immersive atmosphere. The final track stands out as a true gem of its genre.
Bodega System resembles a sonic collector, composing a distinctive yet captivating body of work. (Rating:7½).
