Nottingham post-punk trio Bloodworm have released their new single “Bloodlust” and will join Suede as main support on the band’s 17-date “Antidepressants” UK tour from 30 January to 21 February 2026. The group’s shadowy, guitar-driven sound is aimed at fans of The Cure, The Sound and Echo & The Bunnymen, with “Bloodlust” being their first new material of 2026.

“Bloodlust” builds on a live favourite that has appeared regularly in the band’s setlists alongside songs such as “Cemetery Dance”, “Back of a Hand” and “Alone In Your Garden”. The single follows their 2025 track “The Crown“, released digitally and through the band’s Bandcamp page.

Frontman George Curtis explains the new song’s themes in direct terms: “‘Bloodlust’ was written about the duality of relationships and the angst of being stuck in a small town. We had the raw excitement of starting something new and just not really caring about anything else aside from the music itself. We’ve really tried to capture the feeling of that energy in the recording.”

The single is currently available to stream or download as a standalone digital release. The song is paired with a video directed by filmmaker Seth Lloyd.

About Bloodworm

Bloodworm are a goth-leaning post-punk trio based in Nottingham, England, comprising George Curtis (guitar, vocals), Chris Walker (bass) and Euan Stevens (drums). Curtis and Stevens began the project during the COVID-19 lockdown period after meeting at a local skate park, initially writing and rehearsing in a garden shed before expanding the line-up with Walker in the second half of 2022.

Early in their development, the band self-released digital versions of songs including “Cemetery Dance”, “Bloodlust” and “Alone In Your Garden” in 2022, while they refined their material. These tracks, alongside later additions “Depths”, “Back of a Hand”, “Clairvoyance”, “No Face” and “The Crown”, formed the backbone of their live sets at small UK venues and multi-venue events.

Through 2023 and 2024, Bloodworm focused on extensive touring rather than rapid studio output, playing over 100 shows and building a regional following around their dark, melodic post-punk sound.

The current catalogue centres on the digital single “Back of a Hand” (released in September 2024), the subsequent track “Depths” (late 2024), and “The Crown”, which appeared in September 2025 via Bandcamp. “Bloodlust” returns to one of their earliest songs with a new 2026 recording.
