Beatport, in partnership with Warner Music Group, launches Global Remix Challenge for Madonna’s “Ray of Light” (Aug 28–Sep 25, 2025)
Originally released in 1998, “Ray of Light” marked Madonna’s major shift toward electronic/ambient-infused pop with producer William Orbit.
Beatport has opened a new Global Remix Challenge around Madonna’s 1998 single “Ray of Light”, run in partnership with Warner Music Group (Warner Records / Rhino) and LabelRadar. The contest runs from August 28 to September 25, 2025, inviting producers worldwide to rework the William Orbit co-produced track. Beatport will reveal final results in mid-October on Beatportal.

Here’s how you can participate: Producers can download official “Ray of Light” stems via Beatportal and submit finished remixes through LabelRadar (deadline: Thursday, September 25, 2025, 11:59 PM PT).

The challenge coincides with the release of “Veronica Electronica” on Warner Records – a remix companion to “Ray of Light”, released earlier this Summer featuring newly edited club remixes by William Orbit, Peter Rauhofer, Sasha, BT and Victor Calderone, plus the demo “Gone, Gone, Gone”.

Personally, I largely prefer the track “Frozen” over “Ray Of Light”.
