US goth-industrial artist Eva X will release her second album, “TURBOPINK“, on 6 November 2026. The nine-track record follows her 2022 debut, “I Dream of a Reality”, and includes a cover of Korn‘s “Twisted Transistor”. It will be available on CD and digital formats worldwide.

“TURBOPINK” is preceded by two already-released singles, “Dopamine Blind” and “Fiction”, and by “Dance in Shadows“, which Side-Line covered on its release on 18 September 2026. Eva X wrote and recorded the album after touring across North America for her debut, during which the project grew from a solo studio act into a four-piece live band.

Eva X’s ‘TURBOPINK’ tracklist and sound

The album mixes industrial, electronica and metal, with elements of J-pop. US goth-industrial artist EVA X released the single “Dance in Shadows” on 18 September 2026, alongside the announcement of her second album, “TURBOPINK”, due 6 November. The single mixes synthpop, metal, power pop and 80s-referencing production, and comes backed with a breakbeat remix by Stoneburner.

“Dance in Shadows” was written by EVA X collaborator Gaby Gustafson after a co-worker and friend died of an aggressive form of cancer. “I had written a super sad song originally, but I knew she’d hate that. It was really important to her to find joy wherever she could. So I ended up reworking the track into Dance in Shadows, our happy little song about death,” Gustafson stated. The B-side carries a breakbeat remix of the track by Stoneburner.

The Vancouver, British Columbia based industrial pop artist Eva X has just unveiled her newest single and video, “Dopamine Blind”. “Dopamine Blind” is born “out of escaping life into the night” so the artist says. And she adds: “The track chases the need to forget our problems and capture a moment of bliss, no matter where it takes us.”

The “Dopamine Blind” video was co-created by Erik Gustafson Cinematography and Eva X aka Gabrielle Gustafson.

“Stand Together” is the new remix single by Sapphira Vee that is accompanied by a video that was assembled by Jim Marcus (Die Warzau/Go Fight).

The new 6-track single was taken from the album “Fortune” and features remixes from LGBTQ and women artists that include Eva X, Morgue VVitch, Stabbed by Prongs and Wandering Whispers. Sapphira Vee recently said: “No matter which oppressed group with which you most closely identify, we get nowhere if we can’t stand together.”

“Stand Together” features Veronica Tam and was intentionally released today on Martin Luther King Jr Day, 2024 through Distortion Productions on all digital and streaming platforms.

In a remarkable celebration of its 100th release, Distortion Productions has unveiled a unique homage to the 1987 cult classic film, “The Lost Boys”. The project, inspired by the film’s soundtrack, is a tribute by label owner Jim Semonik, who harbors a deep appreciation for the movie’s musical landscape.

Titled “Be One of Us: 1987 Revisited”, the album is a compilation of covers from various artists, each adding their unique spin to the iconic tracks. The album opens with a rendition of INXS’s “Good Times” by Chicago-based band Go Fight. The tribute includes other notable covers such as God Module’s “Lost in the Shadows”, Eva X’s take on Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”, and The Battlefront’s version of INXS’s “Laying Down the Law”. Additionally, Adoration Destroyed X NØIR has revisited a The Doors classic, while Sapphira Vee has put a new spin on the Eddie & the Tide track “Power Play”.

The album also features Ashbury Heights’ cover of “Cry Little Sister”, Glass Apple Bonzai’s “I Still Believe”, Null Device’s interpretation of “Beauty Has Her Way”, and Red Lokust’s rendition of “To the Shock of Ms Louise”.

About ‘The Lost Boys’

Directed by Joel Schumacher, ‘The Lost Boys’ is a 1987 American film that blends supernatural elements with comedy and horror. The film, which was produced by Harvey Bernhard, features a screenplay penned by Jeffrey Boam, Janice Fischer, and James Jeremias, based on a story by Fischer and Jeremias. Its ensemble cast boasts notable names such as Corey Feldman, Jami Gertz, Corey Haim, Edward Herrmann, Barnard Hughes, Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, and Dianne Wiest.

VampireFreaks announces Dark Force Fest 2024, a 3-day gothic-industrial music festival and convention. Dark Force Fest will be held April 19th – 21st, 2024 in Parsippany, New Jersey.

In addition to live bands on two stages, Dark Force Fest also features drag queen performances, sideshow acts, a live bats exhibit, band meet-and-greets, DJ club events, 100+ vendors, panels, presentations, meet-ups, food trucks, and spooky crafting activities. Dark Force Fest takes place in Parsippany, NJ (1 hour from New York City), where goths from around the world congregate and take over the massive castle-themed Sheraton Parsippany—including 44,000 square feet of event space and all 370 hotel rooms. The castle will be adorned in gothic décor and art installations for an immersive experience. Rooms in the main venue sold out within 2 days of announcing the dates, but there are still overflow hotels in the area.

The Belgian dark pop act Psy’Aviah is now closing the “Bittersweet” album chapter in beauty with a collaboration with Tina Forlorn of Sorrow Stories. The new EP is called “Healing”, is available now in an exclusive format on Bandcamp and is one of the most representative songs from the band’s conceptual album “Bittersweet “.

For the occasion of this new EP release, both Yves Schelpe and Tina Forlorn recorded together an exclusive bonus song: “Heaven Is Not Enough”.

Yves Schelpe explains: “‘Heaven Is Not Enough’ mixes metaphorical lyrics, sorrowful atmospheres with more upbeat dark electronics. In the song we played with double meanings and questioning whether dreaming of death to feel alive makes any sense when ‘Heaven is not enough’ and might be your new Hell… a sort of beginning of the finale in a place where there is no conclusion because you need to recreate yourself altogether.”

Background/Info: Canadian Jonathan Kaplan is already active under the For All The Emptiness moniker for a while. After multiple self-releases he signed to Infacted Recordings. “Used And Violated” was released by the end of 2020. It was produced by Sebastian Komor while guest singers Claus Larsen (Leaether Strip), Computorgirl, Gabrielle Gustafson (Eva X) and Daniel Graves (Aesthetic Perfection) joined in.

Content: The EP rather looks like a mini-album featuring 5 different tracks. The songs are diversified, mixing breakbeats with Electro-Pop while there’s also a song with a menacing EBM bass line. It’s a powerful and catchy production with different singers.

+ + + : Jonathan Kaplan isn’t emulating Electro-Pop standards but simply brings different influences together. The way he mixed catchy Pop together with dynamic Breakbeats is a true original idea although still a challenge. I like challenges and especially when it resulted from a creative process -featuring inspired guests, resulting in alluring songs like the title track but also “Sell The Sins” featuring Claus Larsen and Daniel Graves. My personal favorite one however is the powerful and ultra-catchy “Dead Inside” featuring Computorgirl.

– – – : The last song is a poorly inspired cut which serves as the antithesis to the rest of the work.

Conclusion: “Used and Violated” is a creative Electro-Pop production which will get you into a frenetic dance.

Best songs: “Dead Inside”, “Sell The Sins”, “Used And Violated”.

About For All The Emptiness

For All The Emptiness is a dark electro project from Toronto, Canada, started as an idea by vocalist and composer Jonathan Kaplan. The project released its debut album “Axioms” in 2011, produced by Yone of Decoded Feedback, followed by a 2012 remix version featuring contributions from Assemblage 23, Beborn Beton and Decoded Feedback. The band’s third release, the “mt” EP, was produced and mixed by Sebastian Komor of Icon of Coil in 2017. Komor also produced “Used And Violated”, released via Infacted Recordings on Bandcamp on December 9, 2022.

Background/Info: Eva X is the sonic brainchild of Canadian female artist  Gaby Gustafson. After having released a few singles she signed to Distortion Productions unleashing her official debut album “I Dream Of Reality”.  

Content: The work sounds like the offspring between different but related influences. It creates a naughty Pop sound driven by passionate vocals. Broken rhythms are one of the album’s trademarks while there’s an interesting twist between electronics and guitar parts.

+ + + : Eva X reveals a very own approach in sound. This girl has something from her own which I like. The sound is hard to define but definitely ‘Pop’ related; somewhat in between Industrial and Indie-like. The timbre of voice is sometimes reminds me of Gaby’s compatriot Jennifer Parkins (aka Ayria).

– – – : The work features remixes by Adoration Destroyed, Nebulae complex and Spank The Nun. I personally prefer the remixes to the original edits.

Conclusion: Eva X is a name to keep in mind; this artist is not dealing with the most accessible kind of Pop but the work resulted from a true creative process I can only but support.

Background/Info: We welcome the debut album of American project Silver Walks. Guest singers Stella Soleil, Eva X, Coral Scere + Tim Heireth and Marc Heal (Cubanate) contributed to the opus.John Fryer did the mixing.

Content: This work covers different influences, which have been masterly adapted into a very own creation. Most of the songs are powerful and mainly carried by Electro-Industrial sound treatments, but there’s also a pop touch emerging now and then. Most of the songs are cold and danceable. The different vocalists are adding diversity to the work; from pure sensuality to total rage.

+ + + : This is a well-crafted work with a very own approach. I like when a band is trying to do things a different way. The contribution of different singers brings different accents to the work, but I have to admit I remain impressed by the violence and rage by Marc Heal singing on “In Consequence”. This song is comparable to Industrial-Pop music. Another great cut is “Mirrortowne” featuring Industrial guitar riffs and cool electronic sequences.

– – – : There are no major minus points, but I got the feeling this project has the potential to do even better. But it’s a successful debut!

Conclusion: Distortion Productions has a nose for interesting, new, artists and Silver Walks definitely is one to keep an eye on.

“Machine” is the first look at Eva X’s upcoming debut album “I Dream of a Reality”. In the music video, you get a glimpse of what being beautiful in the alternative community looks and feels like, and how far we go for aesthetics.

The song was written and produced by Gabrielle Gustafson, Shane Stephenson and Adam Mah and mixed by Shane Stephenson (Listening Party Recordings) while Eric Oehler (Submersible Studios) took care of the mastering. The video itself was produced by An Erik Gustafson Cinematography production and directed, shot and edited by Erik Gustafson.

About the video and song Eva X has the following to say: “I have a complicated relationship with my body. I do love it, but sometimes I wish it was different. Less fat. Bigger lips. Straighter nose. I wrote ‘Machine’ in a vulnerable spot, when I’d have given anything to feel beautiful like other women on social media. Chasing that aesthetic with injections and makeup was powerful, but also scary- I could create the face and body I wanted, but what would happen when it wore off?”

And she adds: “I took all of these tangled feelings and poured them into Machine. When I brought the demo to my coproducers, Shane and Adam immediately jumped on it, bringing it to life with a frenetic energy that captured perfectly how alluring and isolating that illusion can be.”

Eva X is a one-woman gothic pop powerhouse combining nostalgic synths, soaring vocals, and pop sensibilities. She released her debut EP, “Electrowoman”, in October 2019. While 2020 was supposed to see her hitting stages all over Canada and the US, that didn’t go so well for obvious reasons.

Instead she pivoted to streaming, appearing on streams hosted by Mechanismus and STIMULATE! released the singles “A Softer World” and “Black Blood”.
