Female-fronted synthpop trio Fatal Aim released the single “Euphoria” via SkyQode on August 29, 2025. The synthpop/darkwave act follows a run of recent singles with a two-track digital release. And now there is also a video for “Euphoria”.

About Fatal Aim

Fatal Aim formed in 2003 when composer Artem (Artyom) Gudkov and vocalist Ekaterina Naumova launched the project with a synth-driven, dark electronic sound. Their debut album “Winter Saga” appeared on Molot Records/Irond in June 2007 as an enhanced CD.

After lineup changes and a hiatus, the original duo reunited and signed to SkyQode in 2021/2022, returning with the digital single “Nevermind” on February 10, 2022. Later that year they issued “Red Light,” followed by “Gothic Xmas” (2024), and “Shine” and “Stay in Touch” in 2025.

The current lineup consists of Gudkov (synths, programming), Naumova (vocals), and Sergey Zhulikov (drums, percussion). The band has also contributed covers to tribute releases, including And One’s “The Only Guest” on Electrozombies’ “Anode”, and participated in SkyQode’s De/Vision tribute with “We Fly… Tonight.”

Here’s one from a few years ago, 2021 to be precise, when Electrozombies celebrated the 30th anniversary of the And One debut album “Anguish” with a tribute album titled “Anode”. “With many bands, the release cycle gets longer and longer as they continue to exist, leading to prolonged periods of drought for fans,” says Electrozombies. “With this tribute, we aim to shorten the waiting time until And One’s next album.”

Since we didn’t feature the news back then, we bring it today.

The tribute also reflected Steve Naghavi’s admiration for Depeche Mode. Electrozombies found inspiration in a childhood photo of Naghavi surrounded by Depeche Mode posters. “There are countless Depeche Mode tribute compilations. Why not one for And One?”

Their research led them to the 2019 tribute “Cover Sind Cover”, which had too many repeated tracks. “We aimed for a tribute with more variation,” they say. Thus, “Anode (An Electrozombies tribute to And One)” was born.

“Anode” features 10 cover versions of And One tracks. The compilation also introduced new talents discovered through Submithub, alongside established scene acts like Beat Noir Deluxe, Auger, and Beata Beatrix. It is only available via streaming platforms including Spotify.

Out now is “Nevermind”, a brand new single by the female-fronted duo Fatal Aim. Released on the fine SkyQode label “Nevermind” is a dark synthpop track which marks the duo’s return with original material for the first time since 2010.

The single is out now via all platforms and offers a taste of what’s to expect from the band in the very near future. Together with single you also get a rather nice video.

Fatal Aim was started by Artem Gudkov (synths) and Ekaterina Naumova (vocals) in 2003. In 2007, they released their debut album “Winter Saga”. Genre/Influences: Minimal-electronics, EBM.

Background/Info: Belgian based artist Cheleskov Ivanovitch is back on track with a new album full of remixes. Devoted to minimal EBM carried by analogue sound, Grandchaos became a reference in the vintage- and minimal EBM style. The third and so far last album “We Suffer When The World Changes” was released in 2014, and still serves as a source of inspiration to get new remixes.

Content: “Tempest” features 12 remixes plus one new version of “Memories In Poison”. Granchaos again selected a fine list of bands to remix 6 songs from the last album plus one cut (cf. “Ressurection”) that was originally released on the second album “Rumours Of My Life”.

There’s a cool diversity between truly minimal-EBM songs in the vein of the original edits and more personal remixes with some extra ‘dance’ elements on top or techno grooves, and also more ‘classical’ EBM and even experimental cuts. Among the remixes you’ll find bands such as Di*ove, Electro Synthetic Rebellion, Signal Aout 42, kFactor, Bak XIII, 8khz Mono, Akalotz and a few less familiar names such as Fatal Aim, Mechaload, Krawallchuck and Big Toxic.

+ + + : There’s an interesting diversity between the remixes, but especially 2 songs emerge from this remix-orgy. ESR did an impressive and pure minimal-minded work remixing “Man On Fire” while Signal Aout 42 transformed “The Tempest” into a kind of free-electro-dance and body-driven version. I expected Akalotz to transform “The Tempest” into a pure old-school EBM cut, but they still held onto the minimal format of the song achieving a cool remix. The so-called “Storm Cloud Version” of “Memories I A Poison” is another noticeable song that will please the lovers of Grandchaos.

– – – : I know Chesleskov Ivanovitch is simply fond of remixes, but I get the impression he’s a bit abusing from this recipe. After having released the EP’s “Days” and “Memories”, which already were into remixes, he moves on with the same formula. I should say it’s time now for new stuff!

Conclusion: DJ’s will for sure get some new potential dancefloor killers on “Tempest”, which I especially like for its variety and nice cocktail of interesting bands.
