With the live album “From Dust To Light”, the French band Corpus Delicti made a kind of comeback in 2024. Their first new studio album in 30 years followed at the end of 2025 featuring ten tracks that sound as if they were never truly absent.

They remain faithful to their idiosyncratic, hard-hitting Gothic sound, occasionally interwoven with Rock and Post-Punk influences. The guitar once again plays a prominent role, shaping the dark and immersive atmosphere that runs through the songs. Here and there, quieter, moodier, and more refined tracks emerge, resonating just as beautifully. The final track, which is the title song, is a perfect example of this approach and serves as a highly effective closing piece. The songs are carefully built, often developing toward a powerful climax, and are constantly driven by the charismatic voice of Sébastien Pietrapiana.

This album balances strength and intensity on the one hand with dreamy, introspective passages on the other. Above all, it stands as an impressive comeback from a talented band that has clearly lost none of its magic. (Rating:8).

French post-punk/gothic rock band Corpus Delicti will release the new album “Liminal” on November 28, 2025. The record was produced by guitarist Franck Amendola with the band and mastered in London at The Exchange by Graeme Durham. The band calls it “an album both dark and luminous, urgent and alive,” adding that it “stays true to [their] roots while embracing a modern edge.”

The band will start its first UK tour in February 2026, with dates including Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and more.

“Liminal” will be out on digital, CD, and multiple limited vinyl editions via the band’s official stores.

The band previously trailed the album with the single “Room 36,” and earlier returned with the 2023 single “Chaos.”

(Photo by Elliot Pietrapiana) The French postpunk band Corpus Delicti comes back with a new single, “Chaos”, 28 years after their last album. “Chaos” is now available on Youtube. The single will also be released as a 7inch vinyl which will also include an exclusive B-side “The Crown”.

“Chaos” was produced in the United States by American musician William Faith (Faith And The Muse, March Violets) and was mastered by Grazz (U2, Pogues, Prodigy, Kills..) at The Exchange (London). The video was directed by Stéphane Lionardo.

Again not so good news from the (dark) Belgian festival scene. The Business Court of Hasselt has allowed Wave to Synth, the company behind the W-festival and Sinner’s Day, a procedure of judicial reorganization according to the Belgian newspaper Het Belang van Limburg. The organizer received a temporary suspension of payments until March 20, 2023. There is an outstanding debt of more than 2.8 million euros.

According to the organizer, the bankruptcy of the British company that arranged their ticket sales is at the root of the financial problem. The chances are slim that the organizer of Sinner’s Day and W-Festival will see some of their money back. They are now trying to reach an agreement with the creditors to allow the next edition of the W-Festival in Ostend to take place.

The 2023 edition of the W-Festival is planned for 25-27 August 2023. Already scheduled for that festival are the following acts: Nena, Bow Wow Wow, Midge Ure, Project Pitchfork, Modern English, When In Rome, Corpus Delicti.

W-Festival attracted over 20.000 people in the Summer of 2022.

As far as Sinner’s Day is concerned, the Winter 2022 edition was already canceled and postponed to next year. In a reaction the organisation then said that it was canceled “in order to keep our company in the game and to guarantee well organized festivals as we did this summer”.

The organizers also said that the reason for all this “is the lack of enthusiasm of the Belgian scene for the scheduled line-up this year, despite our marketing efforts – both in Belgium and abroad – the (ticketing) interest in our program is not at all what we had predicted, it is even far from our worst case scenario.”

Belgium and the darkwave scene, it has always been a complicated situation.

(Photo by Michel Bresson / Martin Dupont) Martin Dupont, a French new wave band from Marseille disbanded in 1987. But they are now making a come back with a concert on January 21st 2023 in Marseille’s Espace Julien together with Corpus Delicti. Tickets are available here.

Martin Dupont was formed in 1982 and (re)released material on the following labels: Facteurs d’Ambiance, Minimal Wave and Infrastition. The band consisted of Alain Seghir, Brigitte Balian, Catherine Loy and Beverley Jane Crew, the latter joined the band after the first album “Just because” released in 1984.

After Martin Dupont split up in 1987, the members started their own projects. Brigitte Balian collaborated with the composer Patrick Portella, Beverley Jane Crew became producer of the Contemporary music network in London, and Alain Seghir composed for the choreographer Josette Baïz and the stylists Geneviève Delrieux and Patrick Murru, before devoting herself to his career as a surgeon (ENT surgery). He also created – together with Dan Armandy – the Supermax card for the Yamaha DX7 which was considered the invention of the year by Jean-Michel Jarre.

Although the band laid dormant for decades, the interest never really faded. A music video for the song “It’s so” was produced in 2005 by the American label Minimal Wave, followed by a limited edition vinyl in 2008 namely the compilation “Lost & Late”. The material included songs published on the unreleased cassette “81-83” from 1985. Another compilation followed the same year, “Des jeunes gens mödernes”. In 2009 the albums were re-released as a 4CD boxset by the French label Infrastition. Included in this set were previously unreleased tracks.

In 2017 the French electropop label BOREDOMproduct released the tribute album “Broken memory”.

In December 2018 the New York based label Minimal Wave released a new boxset, “The complete collection 1980-1988” holding 5 vinyls with artwork by Peter Miles. A previously unreleased track, “Nice boy”, appeared on the compilation “Des jeunes gens modernes volume 3”.

About Corpus Delicti

Corpus Delicti started in 1991 in Nice and broke up in 1996. In five years time they released four studio albums and two compilations on Cleopatra. Their sound was deeply influenced by Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees and Rozz Williams. The group nevertheless produced a last album under the name Corpus, with industrial, mechanical sounds, having no common feature with their previous works.

After the split Chrys (Christophe Baudrion) formed an industrial music project named Kom-Intern on the Brume Records label and Sebastian (Sébastien Pietrapiana) embarked on an indie pop/rock solo project, Kuta, Frank in Curl (D-Monic Records). Franck (Franck Amendola) and Chrys also formed Press Gang Metropol, a rock band in the tradition of Joy Division, The Cure, Interpol and Editors and were joined by Eric Chabaud on drums and Sebastian on vocals. A first album was released in early 2012 on the D-Monic Records label.

Out via Mecanica Records in early October is the double vinyl pressing (with limited casebound book) of Die Form’s 1993 album “Ad Infnitum”. “Ad Infnitum” was originally released on CD in 1993 by Hyperium Records and was later re-released by Trisol (2001), Metropolis (2002) and Irond (2003) on CD.

This new double vinyl edition not only includes the complete original tracklist, but also a selection of 8 instrumental versions and unreleased tracks from the same period. The bonus tracks are “Test 050293”, “Incubus”, “Virus Emission”, “Impudicus Rex”, “Bite of God (Instrumental)”, “Chronovision (Instrumental)”, “Necrophilia (Instrumental)”, “Test Man Sonic”.

About Die Form

Die Form is the seminal post-industrial electronic act started in the late 70’s by French musician and multimedia artist Philippe Fichot. He began recording a number of experimental cassettes under different names but Die Form became the main project and with which he has developed a prolific career during more than four decades.

Whilst the project was still in its first stage, the underlying concepts were already evident: a combination of esoteric electronic experiments with an underlying theme of eroticism, death and other taboo subjects, apparent in both the music and artworks.

In 1986 the project was joined by Éliane P., but it took until 1991 before we could hear her vocals, namely on the album “Corpus Delicti”.
