Out on March 10th via the Frontiers label is the debut album from the industrial rock act The Banishment. “Machine And Bone” will be available on CD, vinyl and as a download. A single and video from the song “Got What You Wanted” is available now.

The Banishment began in the mid-2010s as a collaboration between guitarist George Lynch (Lynch Mob, The End Machine, ex-Dokken) and programmer/multi-instrumentalist Joe Haze (Primitive Race, Lords of Acid), with artist and vocalist Devix Szell joining the duo in 2020.

The new album features guest vocal appearances by Tommy Victor (Prong) and Richard Patrick (Filter). The former even provided The Banishment with their name, which is also the title of a Prong song.

Out already for a few weeks is the brand new remix EP from the Dallas based darkwave act Dissonance. The “Slowburn” remix EP offers 7 remixes of the title track. Also released is a video for the “Smoke And Mirros” mix which you can see below.

Cat Hall says this about the remix EP: “I wrote this as I was considering the many all-consuming passions of my life. Passion to write. Passion for art. Passion for nature, for the planet. Passion for science. Passion for humanity. Passion for the individuals I love. Also, the painful realization that despite my intense feeling, actions and orchestrations, these things, places, people, and processes come to an end. I come to an end. My passions die with me.”

Slowburn is available on all digital platforms including Bandcamp.

About Dissonance

Dissonance began in the early 90s as part of the Texas synthpop scene mixing darkwave and electronica. The band caught the ear of Paul Robb (Information Society) who was forming his label Hakatak International, and the act was signed in 1996. The first self-titled release, was also produced by Paul Robb and came out in 1997. The second release came in 2000 with “Reincarnate”. Fast forward to 2015 when Cat revived Dissonance and began work on new material which resulted in “Void”, a much darker, more atmospheric album. That one was also released on Hakatak, in 2017.

“Sycamores”, a darkwave/atmospheric maxi single, with mixes by Paul Robb, Federico Balducci, and Jack Alberson was released on Hakatak in 2018. “Ascent” followed in 2019 and featured Kurt Larson of Information Society. Remix maxi singles of “Poison Kiss” and “Starstuff” were next that same year. 2020 saw collaborations with SINthetik Messiah for the “Split Damage” release in addition to three new maxi-singles.

The first release of 2021 was “Damage: 1st Assault”, co-written by Melodywhore. That maxi single was followed by a second release of mixes, “Damage: 2nd Assault”. The first release of 2022 is the “Slowburn” remix EP with remixes from Melodywhore, Glenn Kirchner, Joe Haze, Jon Von Herrmann, The Lonely Death, Steven OLaf and Ra Hen of Microchip League.

Industrial bass act, Sinthetik Messiah has just unleashed their new three-song EP, “Xenocide” via Bandcamp. Written and mixed by Bug Gigabyte the single was mastered by Joe haze.

Bug Gigabyte explains the concept behind the single: “In the depths of the multiverse, a planet and its inhabitants go extinct every three seconds. Xenocide is about one of these planets. Artificially intelligent beings have secretly integrated nanobots inside the blood of a humanoid species. By operating in the quantum realm, the humanoids are not able to detect it due to their lack of scientific advancements. One thought, one word is all it takes to wipe the planet away from existence. Their artificial masters have something else in mind, however and it is playing out just like they designed it to.”

The single has 3 tracks: “The Inevitable Prophecy”, “Losing Hope For Man And God” and “Invaders From The Sky”. You will notice on this single that the project blends various elements of industrial, electro, dance, rock, ambient & pop.

PIG promoted the UK release of his current studio album ‘The Gospel’ with a recent UK tour where the band jointly headlined with Mortiis. PIG mainman Raymond Watts and Mortiis have also recently reworked one of each other’s songs for new remix records, Mortiis’ remix album being called “The Great Corrupter” (more info here).

Appropriately entitled “Swine & Punishment” (available right here), PIG’s latest record will contain reworks by Skold, Marc Heal, Android Lust, Kanga, London After Midnight, Indradevi, Mortiis, Chris Vrenna, Pull Out Kings, Inertia, Joe Haze. Even Watts himself joins in for a special remix.

The album also holds the track “Violence”, previously only obtainable on the vinyl format of “The Gospel”.
