For this new EP, Serbian producer Goran Alavux has teamed up with the Dutch label New York Haunted.

It features four tracks that quickly immerse the listener in Alavux’s brand of Dark-Techno. Two of the tracks are hard and dark, at times interwoven with Industrial sounds and occasionally infused with a touch of EBM. In my opinion, these are the stronger tracks. The other two tracks don’t sound bad, but they are a bit too repetitive for my taste and lack the same menacing quality.

Alavux always has something to offer, consistently combining high productivity with quality. (Rating:7).

Alavux is the main recording alias of Serbian producer Goran Alavuk, who also records as Solaris Path. Discogs lists his releases from 2008 onwards on labels including Twilight 76 Records, Vocode Records, Bass Agenda Recordings, Diffuse Reality, Bunker Records and his own 0ktag0n Records, where the “Underground Is Resistance” series appears. “Illusions” was released by New York Haunted on 28 May 2026 as a download. The four tracks are “Illusions”, “Aerial”, “M 5.3.” and “Mutatio”. No production credits are listed on the Bandcamp page and the EP has no Discogs entry at the time of writing. It is the third Alavux release reviewed on Side-Line in 2026.

Serbian producer Goran Alavuk, better known by his musical alter ego Alavux, remains an exceptionally productive artist, releasing a substantial body of work each year. This new EP is already the tenth installment in a series he launched on his own label.

The title clearly signals what this release is about: underground! Alavux translates this concept into Dark-Techno infused with Industrial influences, while Acid sequences frequently rise to the surface. Repetitive patterns create a hypnotic atmosphere, particularly noticeable in the opening and closing tracks.

Alavux reminds us of the enduring magic of the underground: dark, hard, and—above all—danceable. (Rating:8).

Goran Alavuk has built an impressive discography since 2009, and the Serbian producer continues to release new work on a very regular basis. “Polar Light”, released last year, contains three tracks.

Alavuk is well known in the Techno scene—and for good reason—but this release confirms that there is a clear bridge between Techno and darker underground genres such as EBM and even Industrial. Hard, repetitive, aggressive, loops, backed by pounding beats immediately set the listener in motion. At times, subtle Acid elements are woven in, while the overall sound remains consistently dark.

“Polar Light” may not be the artist’s strongest release, but it is certainly worth a listen. (Rating:7).
