(By our Norwegian correspondent Jan Ronald Stange) Out on November 12 is the new album “Imposter”, a collection of songs from Dave Gahan & Soulsavers. This is Dave Gahan’s third collaboration with the Soulsavers, following their releases “Angels & Ghosts” in 2015 and “The Light the Dead See” in 2012. 

As stated in their press info: “They didn’t write these songs, but listened to them, studied them, and gave them new life. It is a reflection of Dave’s life, a story told by others, but in his own distinct voice.

Recorded at the legendary Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, these versions of songs you know and some you might not range from sparse to lush, somber to joyful. The choices and sequencing were deliberate and meaningful, It shines a light on the enduring strength of poignant lyrics and well-executed melodies.“

We’ll get the first taste of “Imposter” on October 8^th with the release of “Metal Heart”, written by Chan Marshall (Cat Power), first released in 1998.

Yesterday’s sold out show of Dave Gahan & Soulsavers at the Theatre at Ace Hotel, Los Angeles, CA is now available for online streaming. The band were presenting their upcoming “Angels & Ghosts” album, the 5th full-length studio album from Soulsavers, out on 23 October 2015.

Included in the 16-track strong setlist are the songs “In The Morning”, “Shine”, “You Owe Me”, “Tempted”, “Tonight”, “All Of This & Nothing”, “Presence Of God”, “Just Try”, “Don’t Cry”, “The Last Time”, “Take Me Back Home”, “My Sun” with as encore “Kingdom”, “Dirty Sticky Floors”, “Condemnation” and “Walking in My Shoes”.

“Angels & Ghosts” is Soulsavers’ second collaboration with Dave Gahan, the frontman of Depeche Mode, as guest vocalist and songwriter, this time released under the moniker “Dave Gahan & Soulsavers”. Soulsavers are an English production and remix team composed of Rich Machin and Ian Glover. In support of the album, a tour with a 10-piece band will follow with 6 shows scheduled in the US and Europe in late October and early November.

Out on October 23 is “Angels & Ghosts”, yet another collaboration between Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode) and Soulsavers under the Dave Gahan & Soulsavers moniker. A first song and video (not for epilepsy and migraine sufferers), “All Of This And Nothing”, can be viewed below. It’s the second time that Gahan has been collaborating with the Soulsavers (the English production and remix team composed of Rich Machin and Ian Glover) after 2012’s “The Light the Dead See” album.

The album will be released as digital download, as well as physical CD and vinyl worldwide through Columbia. In support of the album, a tour will follow with six shows played in the US and Europe in late October and early November.
