Five years after the last album, “Cmbcrst” stands for a fierce and brutal experience. This is pure Industrial/Electro-Metal with a perfect balance between guitar sounds and menacing electronic sequences carried by menacing bass lines. Some songs are truly furious as if possessed by an imaginary sonic devil. The devil is represented by the hellish vocals of front man Andy LaPlegua. The first disc sounds incredible, while the additional album takes a very Cinematic approach and therefore sounds completely different. (Rate:9)

Combichrist has released their third new single “Modern Demon”, after their 2019’s “One Fire” album.

Andy LaPlegua comments on the new song: “Modern Demon” is about the path we are on as humans, and how it makes us inhuman. Trading a life worth living, for a life of convenience. Most of all, it’s a killer track written by me and Elliot Berlin, and I can’t wait to crush the stage with it this summer!”

Combichrist was formed in 2003 by Norwegian vocalist Andy LaPlegua, who also founded the bands Icon of Coil, Panzer AG, Scandinavian Cock and Scandy. Combichrist is now based in Oak Hill, Florida. The band consists of only LaPlegua in the studio, with a changing lineup of live performing members.

Combichrist have revealed a new single and music video for the track “Compliance”. This is their second new single since 2019’s “One Fire” album. The first single “Not my enemy” was released earlier this year.

In other news, Elliott Berlin has rejoined the band as a recording and touring member. In addition, the first official solo album will be released under the name LaPlegua – containing some songs that were originally destined for a third Panzer AG album. The first single, “I Will Heal” was released online in February 2021, with the post-punk/goth rock album originally planned for a Summer release. New material from Icon Of Coil is also in the works, as is a new project of viking techno which will come out under the name HDLGIR.

Combichrist, the aggrotech/industrial metal band formed in 2003 by Norwegian vocalist Andy LaPlegua (Icon Of Coil, Pnazer AG, …), has 3 vinyl reissues coming out in a few weeks. Each album will be released on coloured double vinyl.

“One Fire” is the title for the newest Combichrist album. The band’s ninth studio album will be released on 7th of June and offers cold industrial and heavy riffs melted together.

With this album Combichrist return to their roots and celebrate the sound that made them great. For the studio effort they were aided by Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory) who offered vocals on “Guns at last Dawn”.

Notable is the artwork as designed by Deka Sepdian (known by the fashion line Deathrod by singer Andy LaPlegua).

The new album comes in 3 different formats. First of all there’s a 2CD version (available right here) of which the tracklist of the bonus CD is still to be confirmed.

Next there’s a 3CD boxset (limited to 1000, hand-numbered units and available here) holding the double CD digipak plus an additional exclusive bonus remix-CD (of which the tracklist is also to be revealed shortly). Included in this 3CD set is also a solid metal key holder, a hipster bag and a certificate of authenticity.
