<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Genre/Influences:
</strong>Electro-pop.
</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="alignleft"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.side-line.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Yestergrey.jpg" alt=""/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Format:
</strong>Digital,
CD. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Background/Info:
</strong>“1991”
is the Stochholm (Sweden) based Yestergrey project’s debut album. Yestergrey
claims to be ‘a project specifically designed to fill the present void of sombre
synth-pop/wave of the 12-bit sampling era’.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Content:
</strong>Sweden
remains one of the most prolific grounds for electro-pop artists and Yestergrey
definitely belongs to this category. The originality is far to find as most of
the songs sound like an ode to Depeche Mode. Low resonating bass lines and most
of the sound arrangements are evoking Depeche Mode. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>+
+ +&nbsp;: </strong>The least I can say is that most of the songs are well-crafted. “Life In
Stride” is an accomplished track revealing the writing skills of this artist.
In a somewhat different way “Aftermath” is a more refreshing song and a bit
different from the rest. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>&#8211;
&#8211; &#8211;&nbsp;: </strong>The problem with all Depeche Mode clones is that they’re missing their
own sound DNA. This album is an easy listening experience, but without anything
new, just like you’ve already heard 1000 times before. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Conclusion:
</strong>Listening
to Depeche Mode copyists make me always realize there’s only one Depeche Mode
and none of these clones have ever become better or more successful!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Best
songs: </strong>“Life In Stride”, “Aftermath”, “Sideways”.&nbsp; </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Rate:
</strong>(6).</p>
