Visceral Anatomy is the dark EBM offshoot of Hannah Avalon and Vincent Segretario, who are more widely known as the Chicago/Illinois-based gothic wave duo, Wingtips.

Set to be released on 12th May via the Young and Cold label, is the brand new 4-track EP from Visceral Anatomy, “Vol. II”. The EP will be available as an extremely limited edition of just 111 physical CD copies.

Following their first vinyl release in 2020 through the Spanish label Oràculo, this 4-track EP signals a fresh beginning for the project and represents a second birth for Visceral Anatomy. The project reveals a more aggressive, EBM/industrial-edge sound from the two American musicians.

A limited vinyl edition for this release will also be made available later.

The Rockford, Illinois based goth / post-punk act The Funeral March drops an all new EP, “Persephone”, which is inspired by the Greek Queen of the Underworld, Persephone. Included are five new songs.

You’ll clearly hear the influence of The Cure and Siouxie & The Banshees, with blueprints drafted by Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman”. “Persephone” is available now in streaming, digital download, and compact disc formats. The EP was mixed and mastered by Adam Stilson (Panic Priest, Feral Ghosts, Pixel Grip, Wingtips, Ritual Howls, and New Canyons) with cover art by Greg Rolfes (eleven12 Design).

Originally founded in 1987, The Funeral March of the Marionettes (AKA The Funeral March) found a second life when they re-formed in 2017 in the post-industrial city of Rockford, Illinois. The current lineup consists of Joseph Whiteaker (Vocals, Bass, Synths), Darius McCaskey (Bass, Synths, Programming), and Wayne Thiele (Guitar). Their work blends elements of gothic rock and post-punk music, combining a number of new and classic post-punk/gothic influences.

The electronic post-punk duo Wingtips have just announced their Summer 2022 tour dates.

Front man Vincent Segretario says, “We’re stoked to be hitting the road once again for our first headline tour of the states since the release of “Cutting Room Floor”. Many thanks to those who have made it to our shows this past year, or supported us otherwise. Looking forward to what the rest of 2022 brings!”

The duo released “Cutting Room Floor” worldwide on Artoffact Records last year in September.

About Wingtips

Wingtips was formed in Chicago in 2014 by Vincent Segretario after informally using the moniker for a number of previous experimental solo performances. In 2016, the band released an EP entitled “Greyarea” and former live member Hannah Avalon became creative collaborator. The band continued to do live shows and record demos in 2017.

In August 2018, the band’s new single, “Relativity”, their first public work in close to two years, was released. In 2019 they announced a record deal with Toronto-based Artoffact Records, which has released two of the band’s records to date, 2021’s “Cutting Room Floor” and 2019’s “Exposure Therapy”.

Wingtips consist of the duo Vincent Segretario and Hannah Avalon. While Segretario is usually doing the vocals, on “Run for Shelter” we find Avalon behind the mic, and the result is rather excellent.

The band debuted in 2019 with the album “Exposure Therapy” on Artoffact.

Post-Punk/Darkwave artists Twin Tribes are back with a remix album. “Altars” is the follow-up to their sophomore album “Ceremony” and features a myriad of artists from the post-punk, darkwave scene remixing songs off Twin Tribes’ debut album “Shadows and Ceremony”.

Altars features remixes from She Past Away, Ash Code, Bootblacks, Wingtips and more and can be pore-ordered now.

About Twin Tribes

Twin Tribes is a Dark Synth / Post Punk duo based in Brownsville, Texas. Formed by Luis Navarro (vocals, guitar, synth, drum machines) and Joel Niño, Jr. (bass, synth, vocals) in 2017.

The band gathers their influences from the period of the dark 80’s. Dark Wave, Post-Punk and Cold Wave are genres that the band summon using analog synthesizers and drum machines. Dark melodic sounds, lyrics of the undead, the occult and parallel universes are what conjure Twin Tribes.

Synthpop/Post-Punk artist Panic Priest (aka Jack Armondo) has revealed the details on his new album “Second Seduction”. At the same time he also released the music video for his new song “Lonely City”.

“Second Seduction” is the sophomore album from Panic Priest and will be released on May 1st on electronic label Negative Gain. The album was co-produced and engineered by Brian Fox (Wingtips, Ganser) and covers darkwave, post-punk, goth and synth-pop. The material on the album was performed and composed almost entirely by Armondo with key contributions by Twin Tribes, Vincent Segretario of Wingtips and Gretta Rochelle of My Gold Mask.

In addition to his new his new album, Panic Priest released his new music video “Lonely City” which you can view below. The song itself was originally written in 2019, while the video features various fans and friends of Armondo’s across the USA dancing to the song while quarantined in their homes.

The post-punk/darkwave festival Absolution has announced their line up and festival dates. Taking place in Tampa, FL October 4th-5th will be the inaugural Absolution Festival. The festival will feature some of the best post-punk and darkwave artists throughout North America.

Headlining the festival will be Vancouver based post-punk artists Actors and Seattle based electro/synth pop artist Assemblage 23. Tickets for the festival will go on sale February 8th. You can already book your hotel here!
