Genre/Influences: Electro-pop.

Background/Info: Adam Radziszewski and
Wojciech Jarzębak is the Polish duo hiding behind Uncarnate. Nearly four years
after their debut mini-album “Weak Protein Life” they’re back again unleashing
six new songs plus two remixes.

Content: The debut work of
Uncarnate was clearly electro-pop driven, but still revealing some minimalism
in the production and a few harder EBM elements. “Reality Breakdown” is more
‘classical’ electro-pop like. It’s a sweet and melodic production with a few
harder (EBM-inspired again) and darker passages. Singer Wojciech
Jarzębak has a rather charismatic voice.

Remixes
have been done by Deaf and Exemia.

+ + + : There’s a considerable
evolution in the different aspects of the production. The sound became more ‘classical’-like,
but the composition is more elaborate. The songs are simple, but efficient. And
here again I prefer the harder touch running through the body-pop driven “Deep
Green”. I also have to say a word about the cool and more club-orientated remix
of “Samael” by Mexican producer Exemia. Last, but not least the artwork
(digipak) of this album is sober, but great!

– – – : Uncarnate doesn’t
innovate at any single moment. It’s a fully enjoyable piece of music without
‘hits’ and that’s probably what this band is missing the most.

Conclusion: It’s not an easy thing to
distinguish yourself at the endless universe of electro-pop music. “Reality
Breakdown” is a pleasant listen, but without major surprises.

Best songs: “Deep Green”, “Samael –
Exemia Remix”, “Dragon Eel”.

Rate: (7).

The fine dark electropop act Uncarnate returns with a brand new video for the track “Samael”. The clip above promotes the new mini-album “Reality Breakdown” which you can check out below on Bandcamp.

Here’s what Adam Radziszewski says about the video: “It tells a story which starts in a lab and ends in the woods at night. It’s not clear whether the musicians really meet Herne the Hunter, an elder forest ghost, or if this was nothing but tripping after the consumption of the primeval psychoactive substance just resynthesized from a plant.”

Bio

You will probably remember this fine band as they have been featured on 2 of our Face The Beat compilations. This Polish duo combines darkwave aesthetics, avant-pop and dance beats. Uncarnate draws inspiration from Scandinavian synthpop, Polish post-punk and Western European electro-industrial. Their newly released mini-album “Reality Breakdown” presents a cleaner, softer and deeper sound than their first “Weak Protein Life” EP.

Background/Info: Russian electro-pop formation WANT/ed returns with their fourth full length album. The band actually consisting of Yury Aryasov and Sergey Surkov unleashed an album featuring 10 songs plus 2 remixes. Some of the cuts have been already released on previous EP’s.

Content: The band invited numerous guest singers to achieve this work. Tomas Gustafsson (known from Erotic Elk) is not only singing, but also playing guitar on a few cuts. I also have to mention Patrik Hansson (Vanguard) and Miranda Cartel while names like Catrine Christensen, Holger Muller, Evgenly Rodionov and Teemu Salo (Fadeout) are maybe less familiar names.

Because of the different vocalists this album also sounds pretty diversified. The tracks however moves in between electro-pop and harder body-pop cuts. Some of the female singers cover the work with a breeze of sensuality while the male singers mainly sing on the ‘harder’ cuts. From danceable tracks to melancholic passages, WANT/ed clearly sounds clearly inspired by Depeche Mode.

The bonus remixes have been done by Uncarnate and Erotic Elk.

+ + + : I’m often a skeptical about a band working with multiple singers, but I’ve to admit WANT/ed did a real great selection. The diversity of the work is interesting as you might be seduced by the sensuality of the songs featuring Miranda Cartel and Catrine Christensen at one side and Patrik Hansson (often linked to Mesh) at the other side. The songs are sometimes evoking Depeche Mode, but the most important thing is that they’re well-crafted and revealing all the experience of this Russian duo. Among the harder cuts I’ve to mention the pretty cool “Future Rhythm 2017” with guitar playing by Tomas Gustafsson.

– – – : This is album sounds cool, diversified and enjoyable from start till finish, but I’m just missing a potential hit!

Conclusion: WANT/ed simply confirms great electro-pop is not only and most of the times made in Germany or Sweden, but also in Russia. ScentAir has a nose for national talents and WANT/ed definitely is a band to discover and keep an eye on.

Best songs: “Future Rhythm 2017”, “Fall”, “Nothing To Fear”, “My Pride”.

Rate: (7).

The 84th track on our free download compilation “Face The Beat: Session 4” (featuring 92 tracks) is by the Polish dark wave synthpop act Uncarnate.

This is one of our most favourite dark wave acts and they also made it (again) to our compilation after they sent us the excellent “Deep Green” act. Uncarnate consists of the duo Adam Radziszewski and Wojciech Jarzębak and they are offering great dark wave electro pop mixed with deep vocals.

You can find the project back on Facebook, make sure to check it out!

Listen to “Deep Green” below and download it right here.

Background/Info: Uncarnate is a new and young Polish band set up by Adam Radziszewski and Wojciech Jarzębak. “Weak Protein Life” is their self-released debut production featuring 5 songs and 4 remixes.

Content: The very first tones directly reveal the main source of inspiration the duo is dealing with. The composition is driven by elements of electro-pop and EBM. The writing is rather minimal-like, but quite well-crafted and accomplished with some little details.

The vocals have a robotic touch, which is fitting with the sound. The cadence remains rather slow, but danceable.

The remixes have been made by My Neighbour Is, Exemia, Audiocentesis and Cold Therapy. These bands inject some diversity to the EP and I’m especially referring to the somewhat dubby & psychedelic remix of “Artist” by My Neighbour Is.

+ + + : The minimalism running through this work is a real interesting element. Uncarnate is not exactly emulating classical electro-pop standards, but tries to create a unique vision of electro-pop music. The song “Artist” is a real noticeable cut for its global production.

– – – : I’m missing a little bit more passion in the vocals. The robotic style is pretty good, but a little bit more conviction would be a bonus. This EP features cool songs, but unfortunately no hit.

Conclusion: I like the personal approach of this band, which takes off with a creative composition. I’m sure there’s much more potential hiding behind this band than what they’ve shown so let’s keep an eye on them.

Best songs: “Artist”, “Singularity”, “Singularity – Audiocentesis Rmx”.

Rate: (6½).

Band: www.uncarnate.org / www.facebook.com/uncarnate

The Polish synthpop / darkwave act Uncarnate has just released a video for the track “Homesick”. You might recognise the track as a reworked version was also available on our free download compilation “Face The Beat: Session 3”.

The video itself was made in stop motion animation and can be viewed below.

Uncarnate is a young Polish act consisting of frontman Wojciech Jarzębak and musician Adam Radziszewski. he duo aren’t exactly newbies either. Adam has experience in producing disharmonic and ominous sounds for the dark electro act Orbicide, both in studio and on stage. Wojciech has been behind several rock bands and brings a sense of harmony into the band’s music. Their sound floats between futurepop, electro-industrial and dark wave. In December 2015 the band released their first mini-album “Weak protein life”, bringing together cold modern beats and deep, melodic vocals.

Track 61 on our free download compilation “Face The Beat: Session 3” is by Uncarnate. On “Face The Beat: Session 3” the band offers “Homesick” as reinterpreted by Mexican industrial artist Exemia.

You can listen to the track below.

Face The Beat: Session 3 by Uncarnate

The band is currently working on the release of the band’s first EP, “Weak protein life”. Uncarnate was actually founded by accident. Two musicians met at Castle Party (the largest Polish dark independent festival) and within a couple of minutes they decided to start a band. Things can go pretty fast if you are in the right place and time so it seems. What followed was a blend of cold modern electronic sound and melodic vocals.

The duo aren’t exactly newbies either. Adam has experience in producing disharmonic and ominous sounds for the darlk electro act Orbicide, both in studio and on stage. Wojciech has been behind several rock bands and brings a sense of harmony into the band’s music. Before releasing the track on the Side-Line powered compilation, the band had released 2 songs. The original version of “Homesick” appeared on “Elektro Villain 004” (UK) while “Singularity” landed on Mechanized’s Freak Machine 0.3 (Ecuador).
