Manchester band Sea Fever, whose line-up draws on New Order and Section 25, released the compilation LP “Special Australian Edition” through the Brisbane label Trans:Com on 31 October 2025. The record is a limited edition of 500 copies on blue regrind vinyl and gathers singles from the group’s first two albums alongside new remixes by Australian producers.

What is on Sea Fever’s ‘Special Australian Edition’

The album pairs six singles from Sea Fever’s studio LPs with newly commissioned remixes. “Go To Ground”, “Loose Cut” and “Breaking Out” come from the 2025 album “Surface Sound”, while “Beleaguered Land”, “De Facto” and “Crossed Wires” come from the 2021 debut “Folding Lines”. Australian producers Boxcar, Alieonix, Vision Four 5, hedfog and Dharma Buffer supply the remixes, including two Boxcar versions of “Loose Cut” and a pair of hedfog reworks of “Breaking Out”.

Trans:Com founder Dennis Remmer handled the release concept and art direction, with band photography by Anthony Harrison and original artwork by Andy Kiff. The LP is sold through the label’s Bandcamp page and in independent record stores across Australia and New Zealand.

About Sea Fever

Sea Fever is a five-piece formed in Manchester. The band mixes atmospheric synths, indie guitars and driving rhythms, and is fronted by Iwan Gronow, who has played with Haven and in Johnny Marr‘s band, and Beth Cassidy of Section 25. The line-up is completed by Tom Chapman and Phil Cunningham, both of New Order, and Elliot Barlow of Folks.

The group issued its debut album “Folding Lines” in 2021 through Kartel and followed it with “Surface Sound” in 2025 on Cosmic Glue. Songs on both records were written by the band, with lyrics by Gronow and Cassidy and production led by Tom Chapman. The “Special Australian Edition” draws that catalogue together for a territory-specific pressing, adding remixes from the Australian electronic scene around Trans:Com.
