Background/Info: Schnell & Langsam is a side-project by Patenbrigade: Wollf-members ‘Samuel Schnell’ and ‘Lionel Langsam’ aka Sven Wolff and Lance ‘Marshall’ Murdock.  Their songs are only titled as numbers and colors; the tracks in blue for fast tracks, red for slow songs and green for mid-tempo cuts. So far they released one album and three singles.

Content: This EP features 3 songs and 3 alternate ‘vinyl’ edits. The songs are instrumentals versions revealing an open-minded electronic sound which is pretty space-like and like mixing elements of Electro-Pop and EBM. The bpm’s remain rather low although you get stuff to dance here.

+ + + : This is an interesting side-project unleashing an exciting new work. I like the very own sound of this project -which reveals a few Patenbrigade: Wolff elements. Both versions of “60 (Klee)” are pretty danceable creating the illusion to dance among the stars. There’s definitely something interesting to say about each song.

– – – : The only little regret I have is that some songs feel like they are crying for vocals and/or a few spoken samplings.

Conclusion: This is a project we’d better keep an eye on and especially if you’re in search of ‘different’ Electro music.

Schnell & Langsam is a side-project of German electro act Patenbrigade: Wolff members Sven Wolff and Lance “Marshall” Murdock, performing under the aliases “Samuel Schnell” and “Lionel Langsam”. The duo launched the project in January 2022. Song titles use numbers paired with a color code that indicates tempo: blue for fast tracks above 120 BPM, red for slow songs under 99 BPM, and green for mid-tempo cuts between 100 and 119 BPM.

The debut LP “1” followed in 2022, with eight tracks and a limited numbered colored-vinyl edition of 500 copies. Since then the project has released one further album and three singles. The EP “MX1” continues that catalog with three songs and three alternate vinyl edits.

Schnell & Langsam is the name of a side project by Patenbrigade: Wolff masterminds Sven Wolff and Lance Marshall Murdock. The project itself offers instrumental electronica and has been active January 2020 when the duo released the 28-track album “RED (Slow Tracks: LANGSAM)”.

In January 2022 the project released the album “LP 1”. To be released now is a vinyl edition of “LP 1” as colored vinyl. The release will be limited to only 111 copies and numbered. The special feature: all numbers will be milled out of the artwork.

Two members of the German electro combo Patenbrigade:Wolff have started a new project. Sven Wolff and Lance Marshall Murdock now are also active as Schnell & Langsam. Expect electronic music with the songs being just numbers with a color.

This color code gives you some extra meta data on the BPM (Beats per minute) of each song. Here’s what they mean:

• 🔵 BLUE ― fast tracks ― over >120 BPM
• 🔴 RED ― slow songs ― max <99 BPM
• 🟢GREEN ― mid-tempo ― 100-119 BPM

Out now is the LP “1” holding 8 tracks. A limited (numbered) and colored vinyl edition (500 copies) is coming soon, in May 2022 to be precise.
